Quote from: "kilter"

Yeah, I thought it was that for the longest time too. Until joining this forum, actually. duhh.

I thought he was saying "I'm loaded, I'm LOADED" at the very end of crackerman..

and I thought the background vox in the chorus of Creep were "and my feelings are gonna change today" instead of "this I feel as the dawn it fades to grey".

bump. I just realized I have been misinterpreting these songs as well.

On Crackerman I thought was "he's THE man...crackerman crackerman," and I thought the other part was "rock and rock and rolllll get away gotta get away" instead of "roaming roarming roam"

And for that same part on Creep I thought it was "feelings I don't wanna face today"

Doh!!

My worst STP misinterpetation was that for the longest time I thought the lyrics to Down were "will you follow me down & out" instead "will you follow me down now".

I also initially thought "hand in rusted shame" was "hand in rusted chains" the first time I heard ISL. Then I read the liner notes lol.

Scott Weiland's Pictures and Computers...I initially thought "clean those Jimmy Choos" was "clean that gin and juice"

My friend thought "hand in rusted shame" was "ham and mustard shake"

I'm gonna put one in for Sucker train blues I know not STP.

I though it was rats curled up in bed to the lyric Rats coming through the head or something like that
"Robert DeLeo is right there with him in the pocket, accenting the groove with his thick baselines (while exuding a stage presence midway between CIA agent, Mafia hit man, Latin gigolo and dance instructor, thanks to his slicked-back hair, ever-present shades and fluid moves)"

I was going to start a new topic, but I saw this was only a couple months since the last post, and a whole new album has come out, with many more opportunities for misheard lyrics.

For me, on the new album in the chorus for Bagman, instead of "That man shouted" I thought he was singing "Fat man's chubby."Whoops! I knew it was wrong, but I had to wait until I got to read the liner notes to find out what they actually were.

I was tricked by some of you who said the lyrics in First Kiss on Mars were "breathe over" when I originally heard "reel over". When I read the lyrics book, I was like "I knew it!".

Also, when I first heard Maver, I thought the chorus said "streets are lined with pollen". I actually like my version better.  ;D

Big Empty:

Time to take her home, her lazy head is constipated.

Not an STP lyric, but I can't listen to Pearl Jam's Glorified G without hearing 'Glorified version of a pelican.'
“The news reports said I’d torched $10,000 worth of Scott’s clothes, which was wrong by a factor of eight. He was somewhat insulted at their estimate: ‘Eighty thousand dollars, Mary,’ he said later.”
