I actually bought a copy of Buy This. It's a good album, you guys just need to give it a chance.

Yeah I just listened to it again and some of the deeper cuts like Plush are really starting to reverse my stance on it.

I think they mean it's a waste in terms of bonus content. Target is offering a DVD, and just about everywhere else is offering bonus tracks. So why go to Best Buy to get a bonus album that anyone who has all of their previous records, or even just Thank You, can make on Windows Media Player?

Unless I am mistaken, ALL Deluxe versions of the CD will have that DVD with the interview material and the BTL video on it. So if you order the Deluxe through BestBuy, you will get the CD, Deluxe version bonus DVD + "Buy This".

I'm pretty sure the DVD is exclusive to Target. The deluxe editions just have the bonus tracks.

Well obviously it is a good album, it has 8 STP singles on it  

I think the problem is more that it was an unneccesary release, from a fan's point of view. We've all heard those tracks more times than you can shake a stick at, and from a newbie point of view the Thank You album/DVD package blows it out of the water for value and content.

I'm a manager at Best Buy.  Every day when I walk down the cd aisle and see rows and rows of the "buy this" cd I shake my head in shame.

What were we thinking? They're all leftovers from our Thanksgiving 2008 advertisement. Same deal with Weezer, Counting Crows, 3 Doors Down, etc.  

We can't give these things away,....but wait! We're gonna try.

I should get my copies of the new album in the store next week.  When they arrive I'll see if we have the DVD stuff too, or if it's just a single disc.

The only reason this bothers me is because I bought that disc for my collection back when it was released. It's still in the shrink wrap......

I always thought it would be so damn original if a band released not a Greatest Hits and not a Rarities album (because that's obviously been done), but a "These Are Some Of Our Best Songs Which You Never Heard Or Got Into But Would Love If You Gave Them A Few Listens" album. If STP did an album like that, it would be huge. And if not, it would at least be a better freebie than "Buy This."
