I wanna say I remember it being explained to me this way:

Albums cost a lot in some other countries (such as Japan).  In order to coax consumers to purchase their country's version, and not by an imported American version (which would be cheaper), they provide an incentive.

I was expecting shorter songs considering how they made it sound, but there are only 2 shorter than 3 minutes. Anyway, I never worried about the lenght, just take a look at some of the 2 min songs: Unglued, Too Cool Queenie, Trippin, Wet my bed   , Vasoline, Sex&Violence, Dumb Love, Hollywood Bitch, etc etc etc

They're just trying to save space in their dumpster.  My Best Buy has a zillion of these things left (same with the Weezer one too) that they are never going to move.  It looks like an unofficial piece of junk they made on site, and I don't know why anyone would get it when they can just spend a couple bucks more and buy Thank You.

I think they mean it's a waste in terms of bonus content. Target is offering a DVD, and just about everywhere else is offering bonus tracks. So why go to Best Buy to get a bonus album that anyone who has all of their previous records, or even just Thank You, can make on Windows Media Player?
