Now the only thing vinyl buyers need is an accompanying 7" with those two extra tracks. Preferably on red (or any other color) vinyl!!  ;)

BTW, does anyone know why No.4 and Shangri weren't released on vinyl? I think No4 would sound killer...

I guess its because of weak sales of any vinyl @ that time. It's very modern and hip to buy vinyls today, so more and more albums get released in that format. And who cares about cds anyway  ;D

I'd love to have NO:4 properly mastered on 200g vinyl.

I wonder if it depends on the band too. Pearl Jam has all of their studio albums on vinyl, even when buying it wasn't 'hip' at the time.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

What's the likelihood of one of those tracks being "Only Dying"?

Realistically.

Agreed. I think it's about time to put that pipedream to rest.

Realistically.

I just figured, if there was ever a time it'd be now. For two reasons, it's coming up on 20 years (not that THAT means anything specifically), but moreso, this may be the last record with Atlantic Records.

And a bonus track, to me, means that it doesn't have to necessarily fall in line with the "sound" or "vibe" of the album.

It was just a thought, and wishful thinking (obviously).

Yep, and PJ-heads pay ridiculous prices for some of these vinyl releases! $300 @ EBAY for "Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild" sealed copy!  :o

But its nice that PJ has always been putting out vinyls. They have their annual fan club 7" aswell.

It'll be bonus tracks.  Live songs are for singles and I can't think of a record in the last few years that has had live tracks incorporated into a deluxe edition, it would ruin the flow of the album.  I'll probably preorder the bonus/t-shirt combo tomorrow.

Not in STP's case.  STP's bonus tracks from Core, Tiny Music and Thank You have had live or different version of songs. They have never released new tracks or b-sides on special editions. Hopefully this time will be different.
That's because they've never had special editions, they broke up before those became the norm.  There weren't deluxe editions of Core, Purple, Tiny Music, No. 4, or Shangri LA DEE DA in the United States.  Thank You had a deluxe edition, but that was a Greatest Hits album, it wasn't a real album.  Live tracks in the last couple of years have mainly been iTunes bonus tracks and on singles (which they've always been).

Scott also mentioned a few months ago that there would be bonus tracks.  I know he's not always too reliable but he said it at a point when they were mostly done with recording.

I disagree with you, Brett.  Were the Japanese imports not "special editions?"  It took me five years and more than sixty bucks to get my hands on the Japanese import of Tiny Music... if that's not a special edition, I don't know what is - and all that contains as far as "extras" is a live version of "Meatplow!"

Well, Scott said in an interview that they had enough material for a couple of B-sides; so I'd be really suprised if they did something like "Plush live"

He specificly said that the extras were for the Japanese import - there's another topic here where we branched off into talking about why the Japanese get bonus tracks on their version of American albums.  I seriously wouldn't be surprised with two live tracks on this sucker, and the "bonus tracks" for the import.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

I wouldn't pay $300 for a record, but I remember seeing Binaural on vinyl when it first came out at the Crow's Nest in downtown Chicago for whatever the regular price was. (Any Chicago peeps remember that place? It was in the Depaul building on the corner of State and Jackson) Hell, I saw Backspacer on vinyl at Target as well.

Spin the Black Circle! Or pile up in my basement as the case with the Christmas singles (which I then find mp3 versions of anyways)...

I wonder if the deluxe version with the bonus CD will be available anywhere else other than the official site? I would like it for the extra artwork and the 2 songs but with international shipping charges it's gonna cost like $35! If these 2 songs are live songs I am definately out...
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long
