He says "river" a lot

Where the River Goes
Adhesive (down the river)
Kitchenware & Candybars (sell me down the river)

I always equated to "down the river" as being thrown under the bus, so to speak. :P

^^
Sell me down the river means being a tattletale or telling on someone so to speak, revealing trusted secrets.  It depicts the betrayal of someone by a trusted friend/colleague.  That's what "Throwing someone under the bus" means as well. :) :)

The phrase originally came from a time when slavery existed in the U.S. To "sell someone down the river" literally meant selling a slave to an owner in the Southern part of the U.S. (where, generally, slavery was more prevalent and conditions for slaves were worse).  Down the river meant that the slave was going to be traveling down the Mississippi River, and he/she was literally sold . :)

Yep.  I am full of useless knowledge. :P

Thank you very much ;D, a complete information!!! I always felt that verse in the song but I couldn't really understand it, but how Scott sings it gives you a hint of something :P

I know that someone else mentioned it, but he also has a thing for superheros:

Crackerman (?)
Silvergun Superman
Superhuman
Set Me Free (featured in "The Hulk" soundtrack)
Come On, Come In (featured in the "Fantastic Four" soundtrack)
Sour Girl - "I was a Superman but looks are deceiving"
Big Empty (featured in "The Crow" soundtrack)

How about all the times he mentions "mouse"? Maybe he's like Richard Gere...
Yeah. I noticed that too :)

Creep :
Living under house
Guess I'm living I'm a mouse

Meat Plow :
Take a break from the mousetrap we call home

Pretty Penny :
How far will you go I say, just to bait a mouse?

Barbarella :
I'll stay at home 'cause I'm the mouse
Can we really find
A lovely magic place we dream of?

I a theory why he calls it Naked Sunday.

He says "when all is over and we return to dust, who will be my judge and which one do i trust?"
He is referring judge to God.  And when he says "which one do I trust," he talks about all the religions there are in the world.
(credits go to ArmyAnt for showing me this)

Well, Sunday, as we all know is a religious day for catholics, christians, and other religions.  So maybe Naked Sunday criticizes religion and how they all go on Sunday.  He wants a Sunday with no contradictions.

Thoughts?
I know I want what\'s on my mind.

Deathbed has come up a couple of times too.  The repetition of certain concepts/ideas is called a trope, and it's used in Literature for specific ends.
They sell their words but it\'s all a lie . . .

Listening to the Hammerstein 2002 show, Scott introduced "Too Cool Queenie" as "Rockstars & Razorblades" (which seems like a cooler title, IMO).. which made me think of this thread:

Dead & Bloated
Kitchenware & Candybars
Heaven & Hotrods
Sex & Violence

Am I forgetting any?

Shoes are something appear in his lyrics rather frequently as well...A friend and I were recently discussing the multiple occurences of "Sunday" and "Shoes."

I am trampled under sole of another man's shoes

Your holy water won't clean those Jimmy Choos, you wear those shoes & then you run around all night

I got the mud beneath my shoes

There's more, but basically...It all culminates with;

She looks good, she always do...So why don't you wear those Sunday shoes?
