Scott should have joined AIC instead of VR
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:31:51 PM »
I always felt that Scott should have joined AIC when they got back together. VR was good, but I think it would have been a better fit for him. That would have been an amazing show. Scott with Cantrell, STP and AIC songs in the same set. It would have been to amazing.
STP: A bunch.

I agree he could have been a great choice. I think more mid-90's Scott though. He had a different sound then.

I agree it would have been a good fit but if he did join them I dont know if we would have ever have gotten him back into STP.

I wouldn't want to see Scott in AIC. To me, that would be another supergroup situation where STP fans would want them to play STP material, even though he's in AIC.

So I vote no.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Doesn't work for me...
Scott in VR was great!!! (I'm a fan of VR)
AIC is very different to STP... if with VR was hard for Scott "explore" new areas I think it would be harder in AIC...
Oh well I really don't know lol!
But I wouldn't like to see Scott as frontman in AIC... (I like AIC very much, but I guess they don't fit with him)

i prefer each legend on its place... you know, if scotts would've joined AIC and i got to see it, its like i saw two of my idols in one chance, but musically i prefer to see one of them and wait for the other on their own set. i never had the chance to see the pilots but i did AIC back in 2006 and it was amazing. seriously i'd rather to look to jerry cantrel and imagine layne anywhere else on the stage (which happened to me in that gig). u know what i mean? and also, who wants scott in AIC? then probably STP wouldnt be reunited today.

IMHO, VR was Killer. When Scott was hot, this was a rocking band. AIC is too heavy. I thought Libertad was too soft in some spots, and I don't mean the ballads. CB was more energenic. Great disc to run to.

I know Scott has sung Angry Chair during the VR tour and Got Me Wrong w/ STP and Cantrell in Texas? I would love to see him on Grind. That would be awesome.
STP: A bunch.

We might not have an STP reunion right now if Scott had joined AIC.
I think William Duvall is doing a fantastic job. I hope the new material they're writing turns out strong.

Scott's voice definitely lends itself well to Alice In Chains songs.

i totally agree VR was killer, Scott produced some great material with them and i just can't see the same results coming if he were with AIC
