I don't think Scott looks sadder compared to years ago. You must know that he's older, so he looks more experienced as much as a guy whom has a family does.

In that pic you quote, he was just a young man, full of energy and empty of life knowledge.
What happened to them in 94 was a sort of crazy. All money and girls and all that shit, you know. It's common him look happier.
