What about an album named "Saul" for a tribute to Slash?

Better yet, Scott covered "How Do You Sleep?" with the Magnificent Bastards (a song Lennon wrote to bash McCartney), maybe he could write a song like that bashing his ex-bandmates?

I hope he doesn't go that route though. Just let Matt Sorum continue to be the ______________.

But Slash is also acting arrogant with his statements about why they "kicked out" Scott. I say he is no different than Sorum on this issue. Again, beware of veiled trickery that Slash is using. When Scott referred to him as Saul, that was brilliance. I love when Scott does things like that.

I think a new STP album could be really cool. All of their past albums have at least been decent. I'm not saying I listen to any of them on a fairly regular basis (Purple is the only one I listen to, and that's fairly rare these days, though I do want to put it in, with the reunion and all....), but I can at least look at them and think that if I did listen to them, I'd be entertained enough to enjoy myself. I think every record from them has at least two or three really good songs, in 4/5 cases from them they're full of really good songs with only one or two that don't really "hit" me.

In addition to that, all of them seem really motivated, especially Scott, and he's obviously the main factor on whether or not there will be a new STP record. The DeLeos always have great music, so it's never whether or not there will be enough material to work with; It all depends on how Scot can behave and handle himself.

Stone Temple Pilots Plan New Material

(Soundbuzz, Thursday April 24, 11:00 AM)

Reforming rockers Stone Temple Pilots are planning to release new material later in 2008. The band recently reunited after nearly five years apart, following frontman Scott Weiland's departure from supergroup Velvet Revolver last month.

They announced a four-month long U.S. tour - and now bassist Robert DeLeo has hinted new tracks may follow. He says, "I think new material will come probably after this tour. I think the whole thing now is kind of getting back and re-acclimating ourselves to the songs that we know. I think that's gonna make for a better atmosphere and better performances instead of doing a new record.

"Then, after this tour finishes, I think we're gonna be in a position where we've gotten to know each other again, and I think it's gonna be time to hit the studio." Weiland recently revealed the band may shun record labels and conventional albums to release material online. (wenn)

I want to have a physical copy of their music. Downloading it is fine and dandy, but I buy albums for the artwork.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Yeah, old school is the best. There's nothing like going to the cd store and buying a cd..then popping a cd in and looking at the booklet.
Have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up.

vote for the cd too - i sometimes think artists forget that if a cd is really great from start to finish - consumers are still going to buy it.

has to be combo of both - electronic and traditional.
