Same here. Fantastic stuff.

Having watched "Vasoline" & "Trippin'" now, I don't see or hear any problem with Scott at all. As far as I'm concerned, that's the SW I wish I'd seen on the SLDD tour instead of the "psychotic praying mantis" version.

Yes, he was a little nasal but the mix wasn't the best and I'd imagine he wasn't hearing himself too well. Performance-wise, I hope he can stick with this more mellow approach on tour and let the music do the talking.

Where are you guys watching the videos? I only see the Vasoline performance on YouTube, and the Kimmel site never updates the musical performances...

Well smarty pants shows in eastern and central are aired simultaneously, its just 1PM there 12PM here, for example.  I didnt realize he went to the actual taping.

Sheesh.
What are you talking about?

The person you quoted didn't go to the taping.. they watched it on TV, as did I.. the show was ending for us, when you said it was just starting for you..

Sheesh, indeed.

Thanks! I was just wondering about the other songs, as Kimmel says everynight that the full performances would be up at the site, but that never happens.

Amen about the mix. I think in parts he was trying to sing over the band, as it seemed like he couldn't hear himself. I noticed in the brief part we heard of ILS, he sounded better. Parts of it IMHO sounded like a VR performance.. it was towards the end of Trippin' that he sounded like Scott .

I've seen some setlists on other sites that say they also played "Sin" during the show........I guess time will tell.

They played Sin during the soundcheck is what I heard.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

I was under the impression that Kimmel airs at the same actual time on the east cost and central (obviously the clock time is different) like primetime TV.  If this isnt correct I apologize.

Scott had in ear monitors in theory he should have been able to hear fine, but you never know what kind of mix he was getting.

I would have to say that unless you are a professional sound engineer, it isn't time to start speculating anything about the band.  There are so many variables that can be present that may altar a performance.  IMO, I thought the performance was great and I just fucking love the fact that STP is a band again.  Oh and I love the STP emblem on Kretz's kit!

Actually, I am. :lol Not live sound, mind you, but still...

That said, I did love the performance. I never thought the day would come when they would reunite, and to me it didn't feel real until I actually watched them last night. I'm buying tickets for the show at the Woodlands, and seeing them live for the first time...wow.

I'm telling you man it's worth it.  They're the best band I've seen live and I've seen some great live bands like Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, The Smashing Pumpkins, Social Distortion, The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse and many others, but STP blew them all away.

Went to the taping arrived about 5:45 we were let in around 7:00 STP came out around 8:15.

They were great so fucking cool to see them all together, the songs they chose to play were awesome! I was especially happy to hear "Silvergun Superman" and "Sin"!!!

They were all happy Scott was a little wobbly I think he'll find his place in the band again I think it's hard to take off one hat and put on another.

Here's my one pick of Sound Check Dean is on stage

Your the man Brett...Ive also seen PJ, SP, and I will be seeing FF twice in July!

Idk why everyone is iffy about the performance I think Scott sounds fine...He sounds the same like he did at the houdini performances...which I think is good...I don't see anything wrong with his voice at all...Hell id be kinda down to If i was going to jail for 8 day...Think positive everything will work out just fine!!!

cheers_
