Yeah i always loved the old lava lamp site it had a lot of mystic to it. I really like that the store link was called "swag". I had never heard that word before, but after stumbling upon it on that site i used it a ton.

I remember back in the day I tried to log onto it and it wouldn't let me because I wasn't 18 yet.

There's a lot more stuff ready to go than coming soon. It gives people something to do while we have this huge wait in between STP shows & releases.

Most major websites do it. It actually takes a lot of work to build a website so it's nice to give a taste before you show the whole thing.

A good analogy would be albums. If your trying to impress people with an album, do you release it all in one lump sum or do you give people a taste and play a few songs live & release a single a couple months before the whole album drops?

As a longtime Art Director now of many websites from concept to completed product, I can honestly say that I have never seen a truly great STP website.

This site leaves me speechless (in a bad way), yet again.

Ugh. Spend some god damn money and hire someone who can combine art and functionality and great development.

I agree with Sean, the new site is weak. Flash sites, especially ones like this, are very 2002. You can do cool stuff with Flash but you have to know what you're doing.

The design is meh and the worst part is the lack of content. Too many pages say "coming soon"... which often means never.

There's no point going to that site when BE looks better, works better, and has 100 times the content.
