Seriously this really is getting annoying at this point. Slash said in his book that he was so happy when STP broke up so they could scoop up Scott and now he is pretty much saying that Scott's "vibe" was not fitting for the band.

Scott was a hired gun. Bottom line. Of course he didn't fit. That's why I don't know why everyone is making such a big fuss about this from the beginning. Velvet Revolver was a supergroup. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Scott want to record a more of a straight rocker album at the time anyway? I recall many of the faithful being upset that Scott would reduce himself to putting out a 'cock rock' record.

I don't get why people could be upset at that, cause I think Contraband is probably the best album I can think of that was released after the year 2000. From Sucker Train Blues to Loving The Alien, it's a rock solid album from start to finish.


Probably my favorite Scott vocals ever. I love what he does to Set Me Free. No one else could sing that like Scott.

I'm a huge GN'R & STP fan (Nirvana would be my saint trinity). I was too good to be true when my my two fav bands kinda' merged. Thank God I didn't get a VR tattoo like I was gonna'.

Being a big fan of STP and all their projects (but also a huge GnR fan), I certainly enjoyed the music that VR made, but I can honestly say that Scott made VR the difference. Otherwise, "the project" would have been Slash's Snakepit III.
