Okay so I know it's still a good 3 days away, but is anyone else getting excited for this show?

I'm expecting a much different experience than the Wallingford concert Sunday night - which was high quality stuff.

It will still rock I'm sure, but won't have the intimate, fan-lovey-dovey vibe that the Oakdale had.

I'm expecting more of the greatest-hits type setlist, which is what they usually do in radio festival type settings - and since this is KROQ's Return of the Rock - well, you know.

One thing that could be interesting though - by the time STP goes onstage, it will be a full 5 days since their last show (Monday night at the Mohegan Sun). I'm hoping this means they'll be super amped-up and ready to rip for a good long, high energy show. I mean, since they're unlikely to stray outside of the 20 set songs they've stuck with so far, at least hopefully it'll be a fantastic showing. Lots of time for Scott to rest his voice and for the guys to regroup, so I'm expecting some tight shit.

But then, I also have lawn tix, so hopefully I'll be close to a Jumbotron screen or something.

I know Ashes Divide and Filter are opening. Anybody ever seen either of them? I'm fairly familiar with Filter, but I don't know a damn thing about AD.

Hey,
somehow I ended up with two extra tickets for Saturday's show at PNC.

here's the info:
Seat location: section 204, row F, seats 33-35
Total Charge: US $ 160.85

I figured I'd post here to see if anyone needs tix!

Ashes Divide is HORRIBLE beyond words.  Seriously.  You'll notice how they don't move.  At all.  Not an inch.  They just stand there, terrified, playing.

I've never seen Filter, but had the pleasure of seeing Army of Anyone - which was wonderful.  Richard is great - full of energy - puts on a fantastic show.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Major Metal, "SR" would make the night worthwhile for me even if they only played 5 other songs...
I gotta say, I was also bummed to hear that it was a KROCK event, and not just a straight-up STP show, although I figure Filter will be good.

Sweet - thanks for the tip.

Out of curiosity, I went to Amazon and played the 30-second clips of some of the songs from AD's album - and I'm not that impressed. Considering that, plus their apparent lack of stage presence, I'll know I'm not missing much if I don't see them. But then again, I guess with the way lawn tix works - if I want to be anywhere halfway decently close to the stage for when STP goes on, I just might have to suffer for awhile.

I have heard good things about Filter live, so that should be cool.

Anybody know how long the opening band/bands played at the previous shows.
Don't want to miss the opening.  Cannot wait until tomorrow.

FYI - for anyone going to this show tonight, and because of course it's an outdoor event, some big thunderstorms are predicted for the Holmdel, NJ area in the middle part of the day and into the early evening.

Not sure if the seated area is covered by anything, but I'm assuming the lawn is not (never been there before, but usually lawn areas aren't covered).

So this basically sucks, but nonetheless, as always with these outdoor shows - they gotta go on rain or shine. Just figured people going tonight might want to be aware of that. Bring plenty of rain gear if you have lawn tix (like me).

Good news is that by the time STP should be taking the stage - most likely around 9:30-ish or so, the worst of it is supposed to be over.
