It could be worse! You could have a guy from the audience singing it! The strange thing is this footage was recorded last year when the Deleo's were touring with Army of Anyone and they play the song perfectly. From the footage of STP performing it from a few nights ago it's clearly the Deleo's who make the mistake (Or possibly Eric) although Scotts vocals weren't the best either, still they're better than this guy below. Check out the videos below and see which one you prefer!

Down by Stone Temple Pilots 2008

OMG I just watched that video of the audience member and I think that he sounds like a mooing cow at the beginning...lol...I can't help it..it's too funny :)

I saw them early on this year at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville CT. It was my 2nd time seeing them. Their 2002 show blew me away - one of the best rock shows I'd ever seen, and I've seen tons.

This May 2008 one was very good, well worth seeing, but not quite as amazing. My buddy, an STP newbie, was impressed.  The musicianship was excellent, Scott's vocals were good, and he was pretty active onstage, though not the maniac I saw 6 years ago. The light and video show was spectacular. My only negatives were 1) Scott seemed drunk - didn't affect his singing or movement, but his between-song chatting was garbled and 2) lots of dead time between songs -- I assume that's been improved, as I saw a very early show on the tour. They were probably still trying to get used to playing together.  No matter - the crowd was VERY into the show, singing along to many songs, and seemed thrilled by the boys' antics onstage.

If you haven't seen them before, don't pay attention to us perfectionist ninnies, and go see them. You will see at worst a good concert, and at best one of the greatest shows of your lifetime.

I use to always refer to STP as the band that I never I saw live and would always regret it.  So they could have played two songs and forgotten all the words and I would have been happy seeing them.  I don't really watch much of the youtube stuff of this tour, so I didn't see very many shows but the show I went to was great and didn't disappoint.  I'm glad they got back together, and it's even better that they all got back together and they didn't get some fill-ins to try to recreate the magic (Smashing Pumpkins).

I can not even believe that someone would even ask this question! How could you not even consider going to see the best band that ever was and always will be if you had the opportunity?

Good Evenning!

1st: I'll need some help with English.

Well, I'm brazilian huge fan. Actually, I dont agree using this word. I don't know when they were born or what's the true name of them. I don't know anything about playing. I'm just hipnotized by their songs since 1997.
And I'm 27.

I'm thinkin seriously about save some money and make some crazy things just for watch them playing.
And I'll do whatever it takes.

But, like a said in the beggining, I don't speak english very well and it's gonna be my 1st time out of Brasil.

So, I'm sad about everythings are being said about the tour, about Scott's health. This scared me.

About set lists, I agree with the most of you when asking for "new" songs on it.
Whatever they say I am, that's what I'm not!

I'm as pleased as I could ever be!

I saw them In Green Bay, WI on July 17th.. It was my first concert ever.. and of course it was my first time seeing STP. I am rather dissapointed that they have only one setlist.. I would have loved to hear "Atlanta", "Adhesive" and "Glide" :D!! But it didnt make me think anyless of them.. Everyone was rocking out and having a good time. Scott and The DeLeo's were joking around... Scott came down by the rail several times and let us sing... It was really cool.. I was completly impressed by the performance they gave. Scott was on the top of the world that night.. And like always so were Eric, Rob and Dean.. And after seeing them live I realized for the first time how good of a drummer Kretz is.. He's an animal...

Well I for one was deeply concerned about Scott going out on tour so damn fast after the whole VR thing & espcialy after JUST getting out of rehab... I was concerned about his stablilty. I had the chance to write  him personaly & get him a letter which I'm tokd he both read & was touched by, thats neither here nor there. My point is I wrote him voicing my concerns to him about going out so soon.. THEN it was just to be a month of outdoor festivals... NOW.. its almost a 6 month long tour, after the long tour schedule he just got off of with VR...

He's gotta be fried!! But it is all about money. They know they are wanted & more importantly its the people above them that want it more I think. Music buisness is just that BUISNESS, and they have to strike while the iron is hot... I just begged him NOT to get presured to go out sooner then he felt ready to, well who knows if that happened.

Being a performer you can't call into work like the rest of us can... though maybe it would have been better if he could have for some shows, ya just cant do that. You'll piss off fans, promoters, etc. The price is maybe a less then great show & moybe some embarrasing moments.

I have seen them 4 times (including the Jimmy Kimmel show) and I have to say I got 2 fucking awesome shows, one pretty damn good show & a historic, but not the best show...

But I'd love to go see them again, hahahaa!!!! I'm addicted & makeing up for not seeing them the 1st time around.

I must say that I was very dissappointed with the Holmdel NJ show on 5/31, but since I love the band, I'm giving them another chance on wednesday at Jones Beach

I too saw the holmdel show and I was disappointed with it.  But they didn't play alot of songs that are in the current set list and with a band this good I think its worth it to see them again.  I know I am, I'm seeing them at Jones Beach.

That's cool that Scott added a Bowie lyric to the end of Sour Girl. I bet that was one of his fav Bowie songs and it happen to fit perfectly into the end of Sour Girl.. Well all know how much he was into Bowie. Nifty! =)

I just want to add a little something here! People...we actually have another chance to see STP. A second time around! I saw the STP show in Berkeley and they were on all 4 cylinders! If I saw them a second time around and they put on the same show. I wouldn't care. Don't take your concert experience for granted! A true STP fan wouldn't care. Also...yes it would be sweet for them to play Heaven and HotRods but of course they are not going to play it. There are just some songs that are forever kept in the vault. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing STP again! It was a magical experience I tell ya! =)

I heard a year or so ago he was going to be doing a film.. I have been waiting!!! His beautiful face was MADE for the big screen!! OMG!!

I was at both Vegas shows & HE WAS sitting at the Sports Bar... I just didnt know that till the day AFTER & I went back the next show, but there was no Laker game on, so there was no Scott. =( I have a pic of him at the bar someone sent to my myspace... she was too chicken to go approach him so she took the picture, hahaha!!
