I can definitely see them eventually getting back to the studio after this tour. I really don't think they are going to be able to go right into recording mode after 6 months of touring in November. I can see a new record's release being feasible by spring of '09.

I agree.  Hopefully, they could take a little time in the studio to get this potential album on the right track.

Ok, this is what I'm thinking... this is purely a wish I would love to come true...Frank Black who does a lot of acoustic guitar is opening for them at the Bowl tonight, this is and should be a huge show for the guys, so a switch up tonight of the setlist wouldn't be tooo far fetched... and maybe even some acoustic stuff (which would allow them to bring Black back out to join them for a song)...
My only exit is a one way out...

Re: whats the STP intro song that they use come onstage to is?
« Reply #515 on: June 28, 2008, 01:02:29 PM »
Are they coming out to the same song every night? It sounds like it is because the song they came out to at Rock On The Range was a jazzy sounding tune. I would love to hear them come out to Press Play and then bust in to Pop's Love Suicide.

In CT (both shows) it was a HORRIBLE progressive rock band called "Jays Museum". It was a 3 piece - 2 drummers and a keybordist/vocalist/guitarist who sang like he had been gargling with gravel his whole life.  His voice was unintelligable. During their set more people were out in the lobby than in the arena.

I heard on the radio that for Jones Beach it's Black Rebel Motorcycle Club which would be as opening act I would want to see!

I listened to a few songs of theirs and yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Is it the same song they've been using since their last tour?

I got pumped at the Mansfield show when Led Zeppelin's "Good Times, Bad Times" started playing. I thought, "What a perfect intro tune...".

Unfortunately there was like 10 more songs that played afterwards, until STP took the stage, but some Zeppelin would have made for an awesome intro.

Good Times, Bad Times would be an awesome song for STP to actually cover. Imagine -- the place goes dark, those first power chords of GTBT pound out, and the lights go on as Weiland starts singing, "In the days of my youth..."

...and I could totally picture Dean playing that killer solo from that song. Man, now I'm gonna be let down when they don't play that!
