Jay's Museum opened for them at the CT shows. To their credit, they were inventive. Two drummers and then Jay playing like an octopus on some sort of keyboard/harp/bass contraption. On the downside, imagine a lead singer trying to sing while being chained to a ledge on a mountain as hungry buzzards tore little bits of his flesh off until he was skinless. That's what Jay's painful, horrendous singing resembled.

I thought it was cute though. Different too. I preferred that to some run of the mill rock band opener that we would probably never hear about or care too again.

There's actually a whole thread on these boards debating whether it should be dropped from the set. I think there's messing around with it on purpose to change things up a bit. Some like it, some don't but that's always the nature of music and musical performances (especially live). I'd like to know if it's been intentional or not but if asked I'm not sure they wouldn't just say it's a different "rendition" of BBB. Let's see how it progresses over the course of the tour before rendering any final judgments I say.

Dean and the boys sounded solid on it. I just didn't like how Scott did it vocally.

It's like he's been singing it with a bit of a sarcastic lilt to accompany the lyrics. Like with a flippant attitude... I sort of interpret it that way as part of the show rather than him screwing up the tone.

Agreed.  I mean, would you rather go to a by-the-numbers show or have something unique happen?  Like the f**king marching band...

I viewed it as screwing up the tone. I really didn't like the last few lines he sung toward the end of the song. (Where he screamed the lyrics on the record) But then again, I didn't care how he sung the 'don't stay' line in Coma. He did both songs similar in that manner.

I'm gonna have to listen to it again though. I had alot of beer that night :)
