Dean and the boys sounded solid on it. I just didn't like how Scott did it vocally.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Also a replacement for meatplow could be lounge fly.

More dates??
« Reply #408 on: May 29, 2008, 04:40:30 PM »
...yesterday KROCK in Cleveland, announced that Stone Temple Pilots will be playing the E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron on July 7th.  Apparently, tickets go on sale this Saturday.

Which leads to two problems:
1. I HAVE NOT been able to find anything to confirm this - nothing on the official site, nothing at the E.J. Thomas Hall website.
2. If they DO go on sale Saturday, what about pre-sale?

But the gap in the dates DOES allow for a 7/7 show.  And last time I checked, STP have been telling everyone and their mother that they're doing a 65-date tour this summer.  And there isn't anything close to 65 shows listed yet.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

You know where to post, chickie!  I did some more digging around and still came up empty-handed.

Another strange venue, though.  My HS graduation was there - it's a theatre.  Only about a 30 minute drive for me, so I'm there if this is going down.

It's on KROCK's site but where are the tickets gonna be?  Ticketmaster?

Link to KROCK site -- on the right-hand side, just under the player: http://www.krockcleveland.com/pages/288138.php
(For those interested)

Thanks, EB.  No idea when/where to get tickets.  Saturday at 10 doesn't leave much time for pre-sale.  And that was the only selling point of the fan club.  My Cleveland tickets were NOT through ticketmaster - I had to get them through the theatre box office.  Might be the same schtick.

Ok, talked to my friend...tix do go on sale this Saturday at 10am through ticketmaster.  EJ Thomas Hall will not be open this Saturday so ya can't get them directly there.  Tix are $48.50-$58.50 & they said they will probably go FAST!  (Only about 3,000 tickets)

Yeah - it's not a large venue at all.  And no word on the official site or Ticketmaster.  Ha!  Looks like you and I have a little advantage here.  :)

This is from the STP MySpace bulletin just now:
The following dates have been added to the 2008 tour!

July 05 - Indianola, IA @ National Balloon Classic Launch Field (General on sale Friday, May 30, 2008 @ 10am CDT)

July 31 - El Paso, TX @ El Paso County Coliseum

The following presales begin THIS THURSDAY, May 29th, at 10am local venue time:

July 31 - El Paso, TX@ El Paso County Coliseum

They are still online so keep your eyeballs open!  I bet Akron's tickets might be available tomorrow morning also.

Re: Who's opening for STP?

I just saw STP this past weekend and I think Black Francis was the opening act.  Very interesting.  I enjoyed it to a certain degree, but a lot of people sitting around me weren't so into it.  Either they all had one-track minds, or I am a freak.

I'll be there. If anyone here wants to pre-game before the show, drop me a line.
