Is it true that Eric Kretz is the only STP member that can read music?

I heard a lot about this and want to know if it is in fact true and why? Do the DeLeos just do everything by ear and tabs?

I'm pretty sure Scott can for his vocals, because I saw him looking at a music sheet during Too Cool Queenie on the Thank You DVD.

I remember reading an article that said only Kretz could, or at least he was the only one who could transcribe music. Its possible that Scott was just looking at the lyrics.

he's the only one who was classically trained at his instrument. dean and robert self-taught themselves and weiland doesnt play an instrument though he was in advanced choir back in his high school days

Actually Scott plays guitar, just not very well from what he says.  I think he might play piano too, as I've seen pictures of him playing one.

When AOA was touring back a few years ago Dean told me that he NEVER plays guitar. And I told him I didn't believe him but he still swore up and down that he never plays guitar unless hes touring. I'm not sure about reading music though, I'd imagine it would be easier to read drum sheet music than guitar and bass though.....

yeah i only believe eric can. and weiland does play keyboards for you wondering but that doesnt mean anything.

robert has said that when he tries to read music its like looking at "cows on telephone poles", so i dont he reads it either

its not very hard to read music for vocalizing but like drums and all that  other stuff i just dont get lol
