Go look at BBB from the Wallingford show on youtube.  I think it's awesome, actually all the clips from that concert are incredible.  Personally, all the criticism they have been getting (especially Scott) should be put to rest after watching the stuff I have seen.  Energy, great sound, great show.

...that's what I like!  Especially considering what the song's about, in the first place.

They said before the tour even began that there would be changes.  I guess after 12 years of doing the song one way, it was time to make a switch.  I think it meshes really well.

Different strokes for different folks.
I'll stroke to it.

Easily the best show so far.

As far as BBB goes, Scott appears to have abandoned that little "experiment" - both at Wallingford & Uncasville, he sang it much more straightforwardly and, imho, much better.

Ya, I don't mind it.. I was just listening to some bootlegs from the 01 tour when they did it, which sounded great, and he kept it in a deeper straight forward way, though the chorus was a bit more 'stretchy' and high.. I think he'll hit that stuff again, gotta give it a lil time... I think he just strained his voice doing all that yelling in VR...hopefully it returns a few more shows in... this jersey one coming up will be a nice test since days will have passed between shows..
My only exit is a one way out...

Oh and what's this obsession with silvergun superman that i'm feeling amongst this forum - a good song yes, but certainly not one of their top 20 - but it seems that everyone absolutely loves it.  I prefer Pops Love Suicide - but I suppose it's opinions really.  The problem is Silvergun is a far easier song to sing than pops love suicide.

Yah man your def a minority on this board alot of us hold silvergun superman as one of our favorite STP songs...I highly disagree with you saying it's not in their top 20. but it is all personal opinion and what you like so whatever.

But to Big Bang Baby I think it sounds fine and really awesome. Scott sounded completley different on that album than all the others so to recreate that sound when he was using drugs would be kinda hard because he hasn't sounded like that since....

My only problem with it is he doesn't yell the end properly.  I still loved it though.  At both Wallingoford and Mohegan the Tiny Music tracks, Lounge Fly, Silvergun, and Suit were my favorites and maybe Down.  Point being, it still kicked ass and had me full of vim and vigor.

I would replace Big Bang Baby with almost any other Tiny Music song in a setlist.

I just saw play it live them 4 times so far and everytime I thought it rocked.  I don't know if it's as enoyable on tape, but on stage it's serves as a great schtick.  Is that how you spell schitck?

Schtick?  I'd maybe simplify to "Shtick".  But I teach video production and editing, not Broken English 101, so what do I know (hehe :-))

I liked the comedic aspect of the new sound, but I still would rather he did it the classic way.

And by the way, he deffinitly made the choice to sing it like that, in the most recent bootlegs he sang it almost PERFECTLY at the last half of the song, which means he can sing it close to the album; he just wanted to experiment with the a new sound.
Grab the hate and drown it out...

I don't really dig the tune anyway so if they do drop it... no big deal to me.
