I went to this show since it was in a small venue and only $15.

I thought it was great.  They did a very admirable job.  Richard is a better singer than Scott is live.  He pretty much nailed all of the vocals from the album.  Now before anyone goes crazy, I would say that Scott is a better "performer" though.  Scott's stage antics are quite fun to watch, but we all know what happens to his pitch after 30 minutes of running around the stage...

I was surprised by the setlist as well.  I thought for sure they'd do Take A Picture (which they did) and Interstate Love Song.  Vasoline, Big Bang Baby and Piece of Pie were quite enjoyable though.  The crowd really went crazy for Piece of Pie.

As for the others, Rob was, as usual, great, Dean was fuckin' fantastic (fucker can play, period), and Ray was also fantastic.  All of the fills from the album were either nailed or even more elaborate.

Rob played acoustic for A Better Place and Take A Picture and Richard played bass.  Used to Know Her was done all electric by dean and Rob played high chords on the bass.

Overall - highly worth $15.  If they're hitting a city near you, go see them even if you're not too crazy about them right now.  I had too friends that were with me that were on the fence and left with CDs.

Perhaps this is because Richard (just speculative, since I have never seen Filter live or AOA, but I saw them on Leno) doesn't really move at all? He is pretty much a stand-still, moved around every now and then singer. If Scott did that, I think you would be 'singing' a different tune.

Then again I haven't seen them, since they are avoiding one of the biggest marketing markets in the country. Kind of ironic. I move from Boston to LA where I never got to see anyone, cause they all seemed to avoid it like the plague and now they are playing the Paradise (where I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club....one of the best shows I have ever seen) which is a SUPER SUPER small venue. Pretty funny...

I think anyone's vocals get crappy after running around a stage for a full set; especially given his 12-pack a day smoking habit these days.

Put him standing in front of a mic though, and Scott could out-sing this guy in a second (in my opinion).

richard is gold on the mic, clearly a better singer than scott (from what i heard live). on the other hand, scott cant be beat at showmanship.

Well, it'd be entertaining if he was actually liquid metal.

As to singing live, Richard has Scott beat by a mile. I guess it doesn't help that Rich has been sober since 2002, and Scott, well... Scott's doing something and I don't mean Paz.

I can't believe I'm about to say this - but Brett's right.   ;)

Dude, we totally get it.  You love AoA.  And we're totally cool with it.  You absolutely don't need to drag up every topic from 2006 and comment on it for us to get the point.  It's insane.

And your signature?  Help promote Army of Anyone?  Dog - the band is broken up.  NO ONE is promoting them.  It's killer that you like the band that much (I liked them, too, and even had the pleasure of seeing them live - great show!) - but like I said... we get it.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

MC.

This is such a good set list. They played an almost identical one at The House of Blues, and it was incredible.

X3

I've heard enough of Talk Show II.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..
