Deff have to agree that it is one of the weaker songs on the disc .. I really like It Doesnt Seem To Matter and that wouldve made a better first single

i like goodbye, maybe my favorite off the album. i think its one of Dean's finest performances, especially during the verse. how the hell do u come up with a riff like that?

And the album isn't even in the Billboard top 200.........go figure.

Good to see that, but with all the payola going on for radio play, the charts just don't mean much to me anymore.

Drums on Goodbye

anyone else think they are completely overdone and annoying?

I want to punch Ray Luzier and say "dude, chill out". Kretz never does that stuff... because he can't? No, of course not. It's because he wants the song to sound good. Ray Luzier butchers that song for me.

I think it's one of those songs that sound great the first time around, but after several plays. . . it becomes rather annoying. IMO

Agreed..I'm probably going to get blasted for this but I really don't care for Ray Luzier's drumming on that album. I found it way too flashy for my taste. Not saying that he's a bad drummer or anything at all but drum solos don't do it for me.

LOL.  Its a love it or hate it thing.  I like to see drummers more out of control live, but much prefer tamer drumming on a record.  Luzier is pretty damn flashy and very polarizing.  I'm not surprised a lot of people dont like him.  He's great at what he does, but its definitely not to everyones taste.

why would you get blasted for your shitty ass opinion? no im kidding it is a personal preference thing...for me Rays made me actually pay attention to the drums in songs which is nice because now i have somethng else in each song i hear to listen to

I liked it when I first heard it. At first I thought the drum solo was a nice change because that was something you never heard in an STP song. But the solo does drag on for a little too long.

But it really bothers me when he does it towards the end of Leave It. I find it annoying.

Agreed, that was overkill.
