Definitely Brad Garrett as Robert. 

Hugh Jackman looks more like Scott but RDJ is a much more diverse actor and would be a better fit.

definately gotta go with guy pearce after that pic.  I think Christopher Meloni would play a good Robert.  And Adam Jones or Dave Grohl as Dean.

Brad Pitt would be a little too old to play Scott in his 20's, since Brad's 45!, same with Bacon and Madsen, what's up with the old guys folks?
I'd say Robert Downey Jr aswell for Scott, Russell Crowe  as Eddie Vedder, Vince Vaughn as Robert, Owen Wilson as Eric Kretz, Ron Moss as Dean Deleo (hey, similar jaws...)
Geena Davis as Dave Mustaine (since STP's first big tour was supporting Megadeth, that would surely be displayed) :)

I'd cast Samuel L Jackson as Scott Weiland because only someone as cool as Sam could play someone as cool as Scott.

That, and Sam Jackson is awesome in everything (even in the bad movies, Sam is badass).

I agree with bnbrry hmr [sic] - Guy Pearce definately looks the most like Scott. The problem is he is very uneven as an actor.  He was great in Momento, not-so-great in The Man in the Iron Mask. He has been pretty good in other roles, but I really can't even remember the last thing he was in.
