I mean.... it shouldn't really be a big deal for them to do this at this point. These shows are minimally produced and pre-recorded. So basically as far as the band is concerned they could be nothing more than rehearsal jams while dressed nicely and with cameras.  They could literally pound out the whole catalog doing a little thing like this every month or two. Especially without any real live tours happening.

I wouldn't call them 'minimally produced." They have a full camera crew with at least 4 cameras, they have an audio crew to mix it properly, they have whole tech crew to stream it, and of course the bands own techs and touring crew. All those people need to be paid,  plus there's rental costs for the space they are recording. They are basically producing an hour long TV special on their own dime every time they do this. That costs money.

And I don't think we should underestimate the popularity of Tiny Music, especially amongst those still into the band enough to be buying these streams, which by their nature are 50% deep cuts, not just them doing a greatest hits show.

For the remaining fanbase, I think it is at least as popular as Core or Purple.

There must be some way to watch this for all the losers like me that missed it.

If people on this website skipped out, how well did even Purple do?

I made my purchase the night before and was receipt number 2403. Is that the number of sales? That's under $25k.

I bought mine Sunday night and watched it Monday morning. I was receipt number 3982.

It’s odd, without Below Empty and the forum, I would not have known it was occurring.

I am on STP’s mailing list and did not receive any marketing about the event. So while they posted on social media, there was not a lot of effort put into the marketing of it.

Plus, to folks point, people should have been given more time to buy and watch it.

If receipts started at 0001, then that's $40k. If Smashmouth can command that much for a concert (https://www.businessinsider.com/how-much-artists-charge-for-shows-2014-5#:~:text=Priceonomics%20says%20the%20list's%20numbers,Bon%20Jovi), then it's safe to say this was as good as a concert for them, but with less overhead.

Great point. Unlike a tour, they can only realistically do them every few months and keep that level of interest going, but definitely a good earner for the amount of effort required.

Keeping it limited time is probably quite important to the selling model, it gives it more of the urgency of a concert ticket. You have to buy this now, or you won't be able to see it at all. Sure they've been capped and are out there if you look, but most people can't be bothered with that sort of thing.

Boom. More clarity.... And also consider that there is no audience management, no audience sound management, no compensating for light variation.  Minimally produced and pre-recorded.  They could literally pound out the whole catalog doing a little thing like this every month or two. Especially without any real live tours happening. ;)

It was on youtube briefly, and I managed to snag it with a downloader, the video came out perfect but the audio breaks up all over the place. Very disappointing, but if anybody has a decent copy of the audio, I can mux them back together.

I wish I would have recorded this when I bought it so I could charge you all the $15 or whatever it was and donate it to the band so they will do another one.
