I remember back in the 90s there used to be a National radio show called "Hardline" or something like that and they used to interview pretty big name bands.  They had Alice in Chains on and I remember any time they were asked what a song was about, Jerry or Layne would respond "religious hypocrisy".

I’ve just given the album a spin for the first time. It didn’t blow me away really I’m sad to say, at this moment it’s definitely my least favourite of the 3 records with Duvall. Many of the songs, to me, appear to lack any identity and seem more like a mish mash of different ideas thrown into one song. Each track just seemed to blend into the next for me and nothing really stuck. Perhaps it’s going to be a slow burner and take multiple listens? I wouldn’t call it a bad record but it’s not a very exciting one, rather dull. I do have to give props to Jerry as always though as he does have some great lead guitar parts on the album.

I swear I was listening to it on there.  Actually, I know for sure I was, because I definitely did not pay money for that album.

The band uploaded the remaining songs to youtube, and were promptly taken down due to copyright claims. This is the most 2018 thing ever.

Were they posted by the official AIC channel? I notice they’ve uploaded ‘Red Giant’, I think that may be the next single though since the sticker on the front of the CD said ‘Includes The One You Know and Red Giant’. Very odd choice for a single though, I’d say this and ‘Drone’ are the 2 most boring songs on the album.

That album was a real step back for me.  Especially, after how much I liked their come back album.  I actually brought this up, because I was gonna give the album another shot.


As far as the album not being on there anymore, maybe it has something to do with the label it was put out on?

I will say that, so far, this appears to be the weakest AIC album in my opinion. I'll need to give it more attention and see if I come around at all, but with a lot of the songs, they feel weak or like something is somehow missing. I'm not sure what they were doing differently on the last two records to draw me in, but this one isn't quite having the same effect. That said, the softer songs on the record are by and large some of the best on it, which is interesting.
