I don't have a lot of hope for this blowing over, or any of this being a lie, but I am done with this band if this is all true and Dean leaves.  No Scott and no Dean.  I think Rob was also a big part of this band, but it's just not enough left.

The alternative is Dean stays, and supporting the band means supporting a man who has beaten his wife nearly to death on multiple occasions. Rob's always been the principal songwriter... He could bring in Nick Maybury or Shawn Tubbs, and it would still sound like STP... At this point, I think that's the only way STP goes forward untarnished.

I'm not holding out hope on him being fired, though. Sounds like Rob was already aware of all of this, and did nothing to stop it. Besides, Johnny Depp's had similar accusations leveled against him, yet Rob has had no issue touring with him... Nor has Joe Perry, I might add.

Honestly, looking at what's happened with Depp, I think this will all blow over. STP will continue touring, Dean will say the accusations are false, Rob will make comments in support of Dean, and the major public will forget it all in a few weeks since STP is not really big news anyway. Or else maybe Dean admits to having a problem, goes to rehab, and when he comes back out everyone's already forgotten what happened because STP isn't really big news anyway. Whatever happens, I don't see a long term affect that can damage Dean's career.

What will be long term is me imagining Dean trying to drown a baby every time I listen to STP from now on. That will be hard to get over.

I don’t mean to throw the cat amongst the pigeons here but didn’t Axl Rose beat his girlfriends in the early 90’s? I’m pretty sure it was well publicised at the time. It didn’t affect his career then and neither did his racist lyrics on ‘One In A Million’. I’m a huge fan of GNR’s music and obviously completely anti racism and anti domestic abuse, I’m just pointing out that this stuff doesn’t turn every fan off the music. Many fans will still go to the concerts and buy the music regardless.

Those allegations are from around 1994, when GN'R effectively were no longer a band.

Your repeated comments about firing Dean from a band he started just shows the sense of self-importance and social justice zeitgeist that many people carry around nowadays.  You should be careful with your SJW nonsense. Some day you might piss someone off and end up against someone enforcing their own sense of social justice on you.

I don't know you, but I doubt you are any judge of much that I'd find relevant so start living in a real society and keep your millenial-style vengeance equalization to yourself.

On another note, Brett mentioned that he hadn't had any comment returned to his inquiry. That makes sense really - there's a frenzy going on now, so the best thing the camp can do is circle the wagons a bit and come out with something structured. Ironic advice though, considering that Dean is being called uncontrollably impulsive with his reactions.  I hate this story about Dean, but we have laws and support programs for foolishness like what DeLeo has gotten himself involved in.

If I was Dean, I would have responded yesterday in some way, shape or form. His silence may seem like an admission of guilt. When someone is levying accusations of this magnitude against you, and they are not true, then you would be smart to at least make a statement defending your name. I think Dean knows they have pictures, text messages, voicemails etc that prove his guilt or part thereof. This whole situation sucks. I had such a high opinion of Dean as a person for the last 20 plus years. I knew he had a history of drug use, but I had always heard complimentary things about him as a person. I am still hoping he makes some sort of statement denying at least some of these claims.
