I try to play my records as much as I can. I got myself into a habit of doing this: I put the release date of each of my records in my google calendar. Then usually at night when the wife and kids are asleep, I'll play that certain record, put on my headphones, have a beer or two, I'll either read the liner notes or sit back and chill. It relaxes me, and it also puts me in the mindset of looking forward to listening to the records instead of just pulling it up on my phone or whatever.
I have been working on my record collection to do exactly this, but I always end up playing video games instead :)

LOL. My boys just got a Nintendo Switch, so I've been dabbling with Breath of the Wild. Really beautiful game. But yeah, there are some nights that I want to play a record, then I get sidetracked and do something else. SO I completely get where you are coming from.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

DOes the cover still have the glaring mistake on it? My original Contrband double LP has two pictures of Duff, and omits poor old Dave completely.
Could you elaborate?  I don't see any errors but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for.  Front of the packaging is the "contraband girl" same as the CD.  The only pic of band members on the whole package is on the back and its the same pic as the back of the CD release (which includes Dave).  On the inside, its all promotional artwork, no pics of any of the band members.

Here, I have taken a photo. On the inside front of the gatefold each band member gets their own section, an inset photo of part of their face and description. Here on the original you can see Duff has two sections, top right and bottom left, and Dave doesn't get one.

An absolutely egregious mistake, can't imagine how nobody noticed. Almost as bad as missing a whole song off Blaster.

HAH!  Wow that is pretty bad.  No, the artwork in my re-release is very different.  I'll try to get a pic soon.

My pre-order vinly of STP2 is allegedly on backorder at Live Nation. What's the point of pre-ordering something if they can't handle their inventory.  It's been months now.

12 Bar Blues Cassette (still sealed) | Hard Rock Cafe "Serve" CD featuring Velvet Revolver (still sealed)

I've been on this cassette craze lately, and for some reason I'm jazzed when I can find sealed, unopened cassettes. At this point, I don't open them - I just keep them for the apocrypha and collection. I didn't buy many post '93 albums on cassette - I only ever did for albums I wanted to listen to on my Walkman because at the time portable CD players skipped every time you touched them. So really, I imagine that most albums on cassette from maybe '94 or '95 forward had a fairly low print run. Finding them new and sealed nowadays is charming as hell. This is the first time I had a copy of 12 Bar Blues (1998) on cassette.

The sealed "Serve" (2006) CD was just another fun grab to go into my collection. Track #7 is Slither, and the rest of the album has various acoustic versions from other contributors like other compilations of this nature tend to have. I'll probably keep this one sealed as well - no reason to open it for a regular edition of Slither.

So I thought I'd post this for any other anachronistic fans out there who still love their CD Collections. I've been using a media server for several years now, but I still love my STP discs. Previously I had them stored with lots of other CD's in a media closet in my office, but I've been looking for a way to consolidate all of my STP and STP-Family of Bands material from the rest of my CD's for a while now.

For anyone interested, I found a great CD storage box at the Container Store and it basically holds my entire STP collection with a little room to go for new additions if and when I find any. I've lined the bottom with microchamber paper so CD rot will probably never be an issue, and then I dropped a couple desiccant packs in there for good measure.

I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone else looking to actually archive their collection a bit. So far I've got about 124 cd's in there that span regular jewel cases, double disc sets, digipaks, sleeves, etc. Basically every storage type nicely consolidated apart from the rest of my CD collection, which I may or may not part ways with over time.

I guess it was Atlantic's way of getting more material into a jukebox in Europe?! -shrugs-
