I recall when I bought my concert ticket for San Francisco, there was news that concert tickets will get us a free download of the album.

Self-titled, huh?

I actually think its titled 'Stone Temple Pilots (2018)'  as least that is how it's appearing on iTunes.  But has any artist ever released back-to-back self titled albums (I'm ignoring the high rise EP)
Also, the amazon link below has a small picture of the inside of the booklet,

1. Middle Of Nowhere
2. Guilty
3. Meadow
4. Just A Little Lie
5. Six Eight
6. Thought She'd Be Mine
7. Roll Me Under
8. Never Enough
9. The Art Of Letting Go
10. Finest Hour
11. Good Shoes
12. Reds & Blues

Not thrilled about another self titled record but I understand why they might do that. New single will have to grow on me, didn't immediately grab me quite like Meadow did. I will say that, from the two singles we have, they are leaning at least slightly heavier than they have in the recent past. The album art is nice though, I dig the design.

Pretty strong chorus in "Roll me Under".  I like it.
Hr308: "Cuatro, i nearly did this because 5 g's is nothing to me."

Vaporized - "I can confirm that it's neither Gutt or Borja."

why go self-titled again? That's not original at all.

Maybe it's symbolic of a fresh start?

Roll Me Under is great! Reminds me of No. 4. However, it baffles my mind that STP always makes bad decisions. Why a second self titled album? I get that they want to present themselves as this is who we are but they've already used the title. Stupid.

Exactly. It's a new beginning. It's not unheard of for a band to have two self-titled albums.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Not original? I challenge anyone to name a band that released 2 albums in a row with the same name!

Self-titled again does not bother me.  Let the album speak for itself.  I'm more encouraged by Roll Me Under than I was for Meadow.  More substance to this one.  Fingers crossed for a great record!

Roll Me Under and Meadow sound like something I expected from Robert and Dean based on what they did with Talk Show (should that be reissued as Stone Temple Pilots ft. Dave Coutts?) and Army of Anyone. I think that this is good stuff and that Jeff is probably the best fit they could ever have in this Scott-less world.

I wish them all the best and I:

a) hope that people who like this better or just as much as their work with Scott will be able to freely post and enjoy themselves on this forum.

b) hope everyone who feels like this is not for them or not up to par with what the band produced with Scott on vocals will just keep their thoughts to themselves and will just posting about the bygone era of the band in a positive way in the designated forums. There's much in the history of this band to be celebrated and talked about!
