It's going to be a concept album sequel to The Wizard of Oz.

IMO, the best capture was Purple, but in terms of organicness it was Tiny Music. Brendan was the brains.

The artwork on these puzzle pieces is cheesy, this whole posting piece by piece with no caption is a lame attempt to be mysterious.

Not sure why it's cheesy but I like how they're building a little mystery as a way of promotion, usually with STP you'd get zero creative promotion of an album.

And now there's a.3rd piece
"There's a dusty rose where the promise of love used to be"

See skunkyfunk’s post a while back — they obviously copied an old album cover from the band “The Move”.

Also, I think this is the artwork for the first single, as the original filename of the first file (before they changed it) was stp_meadow_single_puzzle_v1.jpg.

By the way, you’re allowed to think it’s cheesy and lame.

If the puzzle piece is the new album cover, it was probably inspired by the cover of The Move's "Message From The Country" which was the first record that Dean ever bought.

I think it should be known that Roy Wood of 'The Move' was also the founder of a short lived band called Wizzard that made this special little number:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKhFe9op66k

And this little number that they walked on stage to during the Purple tour in 1994.

New piece. Part of their name.

Wonder what the album will be called.

Just guessing from the latest piece, but it my be a Stone Temple Pilots album. Not sure, though.

That's definitely a possibility.

Maybe the album is called "Pieces".

Because of the first filename (stp_meadow_single_puzzle_v1.j pg), I previously thought this meant it was the cover for the first single.

Now I think the “single” in the filename referred to a single puzzle piece, not the first single (song). So now, I think it is the cover for the album, and the album must have “meadow” in the title somewhere.

Edit: Because it looks like a yellow brick road, I searched “Wizard of Oz meadow” and this it what came up: http://oz.wikia.com/wiki/Poppies

(It’s possible it has nothing to do with this, but it’s kinda fun to speculate.)

Honestly never thought single meant anything other than "single puzzle piece". Can't imagine they'd put a countdown to the cover art for a single, especially in a day and age when singles are almost always digital.

As for "meadow", I honestly doubt it has anything to do with the album title. I think since the image is of a yellow-brick road heading from mountains into a sunny MEADOW, they simply named the image file meadow. If it had been Purple's cover it would be called "dragon", if it were No. 4 it would be "star", if it were Thank You it would be 'daisy'.

IMO, the file name tells us nothing.
