I was so shaken by this I could barely post the story on AN, was literally shaking.  Met and spoke to him a bit at the STP rehearsal I went to in 2013, such a nice guy.  Feel so bad for Rob, Dean, and Eric right now.  I could tell how much they adored him.

Really sad news. Music has taken an incredible hit in the last few years and STP have to be shaken to the core. So sorry to hear this.

This is confusing.  I admired his courage to step back from STP so he can find more time for LP and his family.  And now this....


Something does not fit... or suicide is just plain unpredictable.

This world has truly gone fucking crazy.

Never thought he was the best fit for STP, but Linkin Park was a huge part of my childhood as Hybrid Theory and Meteora both came out while I was in my early teens. Hybrid Theory was the first album I went out and bought myself. I truly don't understand how people can consistently put on a happy face in public while struggling so mightily in private. RIP Chester.

There are no words to describe the news. I wasn't an LP fan, but I had great respect for them. And I certainly admired how Chester attempted to right the ship of STP. I simply don't know how to process this, especially after Scott's death and Chris Cornell's suicide. It truly seems like the world has completely fallen apart.

I haven't logged on here in so long, barely at all since Scott died... but I'm stunned by this and can't think of anywhere else to talk about it. I am so shocked, I don't understand. Chester really did seem like a very balanced, healthy guy. I respected him as a singer/performer and thought he did a great job filling Scott's massive shoes in STP. Wow. Scott, Chris Cornell and now Chester. Such a colossal tragic waste. Blows my mind.

This is really getting out of hand now.  Scary and shocking.  He was such a nice guy when I met him with STP.
