I decided to unpack one of the tracks I did last year but never posted: https://youtu.be/0oQO8UnvRR8

enjoy ! DSS

Nice stuff.

For the record you are always my top pick from the submissions. Did the songs justice, but never attempted to sound like anyone but yourself. I also enjoyed what I heard of your original material.

Hey Blue- that's very kind of you to say. I sincerely appreciate the compliment.
So- I decided to post a version of Big Empty - Hopefully I did it some justice.

Hey Huteye nice job on atlanta. I was wondering where did you get the backing track for Atlanta I've been looking for it. Thanks in advance

Thx, silverback. Youtube keeps taking it down or something. I chopped it together from a couple sources. I got the majority of it from Jakesguitarvids (jake rules!) channel on youtube and played acoustic myself to fill in any gaps. I can't believe it came out as good as it did, since the vocals left a lil to be desired. The two tracks were chorusing together and screwing with the key and I don't know how to layer them properly. Everything I know about recording (which isn't much), I've learned on my own. I think I just need a different way to monitor the mix or am going about it the wrong way. I possess good equip and capture well enough but, I don't really know what steps to do compression, reverb etc., to get a proper finished product. I can send it to ya if you would like.

Yeah skunk man! I like! I would love to hear that live. There was something messing with my instincts about it at first but, it was just the video sync. Way to go John and Dodji!

If you have the ability to track at home,  just put together an acoustic version.  Trying to glue together other tracks will always give you phasing issues.  I might even mix it for you ;-)

Thanks, David! I will try that this next week. Im up to my eyeballs in programming dmx lighting for some upcoming gigs right now or I would cut it today.

THANKS HUTEYE!

Syncing video to audio is one of my pet peeves. Haha.

If you wanna see him do it live, you gotta wait for "that special coverage" and I myself am excited too.

I decided to give "Sex & Violence" a go. I've always heard this song in a slightly different atmosphere.. so lets see if it passes the "fan" test.     enjoy ! : https://youtu.be/prmHar04uHk

Definitely enjoying the different acoustic version. The vocals would probably work just as well over an electric version, too.
Grab the hate and drown it out...
