STP's favorite Scott Weiland Songs?
« on: December 19, 2016, 05:22:04 PM »
Not sure if this has ever really been touched upon but has anything ever been said by the Deleos or Kretz about their favorite non-STP Scott work?

I know STP was hard-pressed to perform deep cuts live, never mind something NOT from their catalog, so we were never going to hear them play a Scott tune, but with the recent performances of "Slither" by Robert in Kings of Chaos, it got me wondering what their favorites might be.
STP: 07.31.00 | 08.04.01 | 10.24.01 | 04.23.02 | 10.11.02 | 05.31.08 | 09.05.10
SW: 11.30.11 | 03.12.13 | 08.29.14 | 03.10.15
VR: 05.28.04 | 05.18.07 || AoA: 02.01.07
CheSTP: 09.06.13 | 04.25.15 | 09.20.15 || JeffTP: 07.28.18 | 09.15.19

In 2000 STP did an interview with a TV station in Montreal and this topic is touched upon. I don't remember how it comes up exactly, I have the interview on DVD, so I'd have to re watch it to give you an accurate answer, but I remember the guys talking about some song from 12 Bar Blues that they said they thought would be cool to put in their set list. It may have been Cool Kiss. It may have even been Dean that said that, if my memory serves me correct.

BTW, that interview is my favorite STP interview ever. They are all so upbeat and full of life. The vibe is strong that they are all on the same page. Scott is very healthy and happy. I've never seen it on YouTube. If anyone has it and knows how to post it you really should. It's a joy to watch.

Nick has a great memory! That show was incredible. The question originally came from a fan in the audience who  basically asked what they thought of each other's side projects. Robert said something about being somewhat upset that Scott never asked him to play on 12 Bar Blues. Dean said he wanted to give "Cool Kiss" a shot, and Scott said he wanted to play their "Peeling an Orange."

It was a great question that I am glad was asked. Some information about the show:
