Don't get too excited, folks. Only a handful of shows and no Eddie Vedder confirmed either.

I understand the Hunger Strike angle and would love him on board, but frankly, if we don't get Eddie, I'm ok with that. That record is great. I'm stoked to hear it live.

Not to mention they are also reissuing the record with bonus unreleased tracks.

Oh by all means. The reissue is great news and the tour stops are cool too, but it's less of a "tour" than a few special shows. I'd personally want Eddie there just to round out the whole experience, but I understand that it's not a big deal for most that he isn't involved necessarily. I just don't want people to get their hopes up for anything too crazy.

That will be a great show.
I saw Chris play solo 6 months ago and his voice is in great shape, really fantastic, so pleased he invited me. I took my Dad who loves Soundgarden and has seen a lot of the greats (he's 66 and spent his youth in England in the sixties seeing people like Hendrix & The Who in small venues) and he said it was one of the best shows he'd ever seen.
If you're near to a show GO.

Hey, whatever brings Rock back.  You know though, I always preferred Mad Season over Temple Dog & it brings to light how underrated Mike McCready is, like he laid down really cool stuff.  Who do you guys prefer.  Temple or Mad?  It's a sad shame these guys never knew how special they really were.

Mad Season

Mad Season is wayyyy better than Temple Of The Dog, despite the latter sharing a quarter of their name with my favorite band.

Say Hello 2 Heaven or Hunger Strike don't hold a candle to River of Deceit.

On the other hand, I sure would love to see a Temple Of The Dog show if Vedder was involved.... The whole lineup.

Might have to go see them in Seattle....

Mad Season, that album is just amazing. TotD is decent, but Mad Season is a work of art.

I don't think EV is essential for a Temple of the Dog tour though, he wasn't even considered a full member of the original band, and his contribution to the album is minimal compared to the rest of the members. There's no less legitimacy to the lineup without him.

I really did like the album when it came out, and i am a huge fan of Matt Cameron and Jeff Ament. I have seen Soungarden and Pearl Jam numerous times and neither ever dissapointed. My only complaint is Chris Cornell is an asshole to his fans. I saw them play at Red Rocks and I had backstage passes , I was taking a young kid that was my friends son backstage to meet them when all of a sudden Kim Thayill and Chris Cornell said keep those passes as souvenirs because no one is coming backstage tonight. Man people stood there in awe at how much of a shitty statement that was. But i still love " Say Hello to Heaven" and " Pushing Forward Back" and " You call me a Dog". To be honest i wish they would announce a Mother Love Bone" tour, I loved that band . Chloe Dancer is a killer song and Andrew Wood was an awesome person. Too bad that they never got to enjoy their true success. Another sad case of a drug overdose.

Eddie Vedder sang vocals for one song on the entire album.  I'm fine with no Eddie.
Hr308: "Cuatro, i nearly did this because 5 g's is nothing to me."

Vaporized - "I can confirm that it's neither Gutt or Borja."

Disagree completely with this.

"Say Hello 2 Heaven" is better than anything off Above in my opinion.

How about Mike McCready, huh?

Dude has worked with Vedder, Cornell & Staley, Neil Young, Heart, Frampton, among others.
That's quite the resume.

Yea, he seems to be one of the more respected guitarists that came out of that era.

That dude rocks.  I really dig "Artificial Red".  That's a great jam that makes me want to pick up the guitar, which I haven't cuz it's so depressing...one day
