Today, HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES announce a full summer tour across the U.S. and Europe, kicking off May 24 in Verona, New York. Joining the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES on tour will be their rock star musician friends and modern-day Vampires Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES, THE CULT) on drums, Robert DeLeo (STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) on bass, Tommy Henriksen (ALICE COOPER) on guitar, and Bruce Witkin (THE KIDS) on piano, percussion and guitar.

Following their wildly successful concerts at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, in front of 100,000 screaming fans at the Rock In Rio festival, and their spectacular worldwide television debut on the 2016 Grammy Awards reaching a global audience of almost 25 million people, fans worldwide demanded more. HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES, the supergroup featuring international film star and musician Johnny Depp alongside Alice Cooper and AEROSMITH's Joe Perry, always deliver and arranged their schedules to give their fans what they want.

He's filling in for Duff, who had to bail for the GNR reunion. Sorum is also joining (HV, not GNR). De javu :o

So
  • Rob already does DD with Collin from Def Leppard
  • He just got done doing a huge show with The Doors
  • Now he's touring with Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry

Our boy Rob starting to keep some pretty solid company.

Also will be interesting to see Rob tour with Sorum. Wonder how they have meshed lately over this charity gig and weiland situation.

Ugh!
Solid company, yes.
But I wish the focus was on new music.

Cool - sounds like an interesting lineup. Id be curious to see the set list.
I had the good fortune to do some shows opening for Cooper a few years back. Very cool guy. Gave me alot of solid advice. I wish them luck.

Ol' Rob is keeping quite busy these days. And keeping big company. Dude likes to gig I take it.     ;-)

Speaking of the doors gig,

A cool pic&tweet from the other night with the doors.

I'd honestly consider getting that  framed if I'm him. tweet and all, its definitely as cool as any autograph IMO. Either way I hope he stays on this picture kick he's been on lately, especially when its him with big name rockstars. He was with Peter Frampton the other day. Keep taking these opportunities to collaborate with other household names when possible. Its not new music, no,  but I love seeing every second of him getting his name out there like he is right now. He's a hell of a musician and he's earned this.

I'm kind of cool with the idea of playing the new-singer hunt slower than quicker anyway. No need to rush. And if while waiting for someone worthy, an A-list celebrity and two household-name rockers want to get some gigs in with you, eh, just tape it for us.

Good to see him getting some recognition and some gigs outside STP. He is possibly the most talented bassist to come out of the 90s.

This is true. As far as the 90's (a very bass player orientated era actually) goes A lot gets made of Fleas playing (lots of slap) or Claypool (originality) Jeff Ament (so many strings!) But Robert is in a class of his own for strong melodic lines

I was told many years ago to hang with people that write great songs. Learn what they know....Robert writes well. No mystery he's surrounding himself with greats.

Let's not forget Dug Pinnick (kings x) Emulating the 12 string bass of the great Tom Peterson (cheap trick).

Oh for sure, Pinnick is fantastic.

Rolling Stone asked Joe Perry how Rob became the go-to once duff couldn't do it

Quote
How did you get Robert DeLeo to replace Duff?
Perry: About a week before we found out that Duff was going with GN'R, I got a text from Robert. I've known him since right after their first record came out. He came up to [my studio,] the Boneyard, and Steven and I and him spent a weekend and wrote some songs together. I don't think anything ended up on a record, but we got to know each other. And he's a really amazing musician. So when I brought his name up as a potential to fill in Duff's spot, everybody was "Yea." He's really, I'd say, underestimated. I think he's going to knock everybody out. We're going to miss Duff, but I think him and Matt will get along great musically. I think it will be a really good matchup.

They have a good idea of who they want i think or what chosen few will move on because i don't think Robert would have commited to six months with Hollywood Vampires if that wasn't the case.

Hey Seattle, you might need to send Dean some kick ass coffee if that's the case.

Who's paying to watch this?  They looked old, tired at the grammy performance.  Payday I suppose.
