Thought you might find it interesting that on tonight's (2/24/04) Late Night with David Letterman, the CBS Orchestra went out to  one commercial and back by playing "Big Bang Baby".

Yeah, they've played that one as well as 'Sour Girl' for quite some time, I guess those are some of their regular songs.  They also play 'Hail, Hail' by Pearl Jam and probably a few others...

Yeah, they were playing "Sour Girl" for a really long time - I forgot about that!   :)
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

So I was sitting at my computer with the TV on in the background and some commercial came on and the first line was some kid saying, "I wanna be as big as a mountain!" and I immediately broke out and started singing, "I wanna fly as high as the sun.  I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven.  I wanna know where the river goes."

Then I realize that the commercial had nothing to do with STP and there was just that one line.  Apparently the kid was talking about being a super hero or something.
Sometimes you just have to step back, put things in perspective, and think, "Well, at least I can l look forward to hell."

I know exactly what commercial you're talking about.

"I want to be as big as a.... BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG truck!"

Yes it was. I wasn't even aware that they played that one on SNL. I made sure I taped it though. B)

if theres any way you could share this tape, that would be awesome. you know, for those of us who were unable to make recordings themselves, for various reasons.

I was always curious as to why they played "naked sunday" , was it intended to be a single???

Yeah, it was strange, I was quite surprised. And sorry loungeflyy, I don't really have the technological capabilities to put this one on here.

That used to be done pretty often, if I remember correctly.  Bands would play a single for the first song and then a non-single for the second.  I don't know if they still do that or not.  It was pretty cool in the fact that you got to hear somthing that won't be on the radio.
