Vinyl reissue question

I was wondering if someone might be able to answer this question.
How can I tell if an unopened record is the "colored" vinyl?
Do they have different product numbers than the regular black vinyl?

If you mean the Music on Vinyl reissues, they have a number stamped in silver or gold on the card sleeve on the back, if it is a coloured one.

So if there's nothing there, it's just plain black vinyl, correct?

Correct. I have all 5 MOV coloured vinyl reissues, and they all have a stamped number on the back. No number, then it's black vinyl.
