12 Bar Blues - Promo Copy

In the past few days, I've looked through my entire STP-related slate of albums, and had forgotten something that I thought I'd ask about on here.


It turns out that I have an Atlantic Records Promo Copy of 12 Bar Blues, that while it features the cover we all know and love, it features a gold stamp on it that proclaims it as being for 'Promotional Use Only'. Also of note, is on the back cover 'Opposite Octave Reaction' is listed as 'Oppopsite Octave Reaction'.


Was wondering if these are rare? Or if any other fans here have a promo copy as well.

Does this copy have lazy divey?

Oddly enough, it doesn't.

I have a regular copy of 12 Bar Blues with the same misprint. I can't remember, but I believe maybe the initial pressing has the misprint. Not 100% sure though.

Rik is the man with the abundance of info that is on this site. Found this info in the "discography" section:

The first edition of the album (in Germany) had the song 'Lazy Divey' listed as track 3, while the song was not actually on the disc. The re-issue of the album, which fixed the error with Lazy Divey, however had an error of its own: 'Opposite Octave Reaction' is misspelled as 'Oppopsite Octave Reaction' on this release.

The first US release has the Oppoposite spelling, as well.

I will check my promo copy to see. I do not know the answer off the top of my head, but DO have the disc.
