"The part highlighted in red says it all, "she needed to talk about this while Scott's death was big news"... So she can get her name back out there, possibly secure another book deal/more trash talk articles and maybe even co produce a film about Scott's life at some point similar to what Courtney did with the recent Cobain film."

oh i hope not, i went to the cinema excited if hesitant as the subject brings me down and came away as if i needed a wash... i'm so tired of seeing kurt's most private moments being 'reduced for clearance' and such too... :-(

I'm willing to bet money she will be involved with a film or biopic about Scott's life at some point featuring behind the scenes video of their relationship similar to the footage in 'Montage of Heck'.

I don't think Scott is famous enough to get a big budget biopic, but I could see a documentary.  While Scott's music is hugely popular, he's not a brand name like Kurt Cobain.

Yeah I guess that's true. I was thinking of something similar to 'Montage of Heck' or the Amy Winehouse biopic simply titled 'Amy'. Although, as you say they were 'higher profile' so if they do make a Scott documentary it will be on a lower budget and likely won't see a theatre release. I still think it will be made at some point and I definitely think Mary will have involvement with it, she will have tons of unreleased footage and I just get the impression she could be persuaded to share it for the right amount of money.

Here we go. I was thinking about this when the letter came out.
This could get ugly.

I really hope not too much comes out detail wise, but unfortunately I was expecting this to happen.

Surprised that his will was not updated. Maybe easier to understand if he hadn't remarried, but he did.

Despite how some people view Mary (especially after the letter), I can kinda see where she's coming from, in the sense that she was there all those years and suddenly "someone else" inherits her long-love's estate. Then again, it wasn't her decision to make. It was Scott's and that "someone else" was his NEW love.

From the looks of the report though, Scott only had a couple million left in assets.  Mary must have gotten half of Scott's estate as of 2007 when they divorced, so I would guess her and the kids will be fine regardless of how this shakes out.

Scott Weiland (From his autobiography) -

"Mary wanted out of the marriage — the agony of our divorce went on for years — but Mary still took an interest in my career. Always has. Always will. Ka-ching. Ka-ching"

He was saying in his own words that she's a 'gold digger' (as many other people are now pointing out on various websites/social media). I'm really shocked he didn't update the will when he married Jamie.

Me too...
Does anyone know what Mary does for a living these days by the way?? I'm genuinely interested, all I can find online is 'former model'.

Hopefully, his kids are taken care of. That's paramount.
Maybe there's a trust set up in their name.

Absolutely. I assumed everything would go to his children and Jamie... Not his ex wife, very odd.
