Tearful Matt Sorum on SiriusXM: "One of the greatest"
« on: December 05, 2015, 08:02:24 PM »
Matt Sorum called in to a show hosted to Matt Pinfield, and spent 20 minutes basically holding back his tears talking about Scott. Listening to this made me cry. There was obviously a lot of love between these guys, and Matt was really really happy that he and Scott made up a few years ago. Please listen.

That was really great to listen to.  Thanks for finding and sharing that.

It's so cliché but you really never know how much time you have left with a person in your life.  It must be such a huge relief for him feeling like he truly buried the hatchet with Scott.

So unfortunate the rest of STP didn't have the same opportunity.  Everything was still just so fresh between them.

That was hard to listen to, but comforting at the same time, you know? At least Matt and Scott were able to talk things through and bury the hatchet, that is nice to know.

That was rough, but it's good to know that Matt feels so strongly about this. Matt always seemed really cool, tough, and even abrasive sometimes. I don't know him personally, but to hear him open up like that about Scott and get really emotional, it's really comforting. I think he put it the best he possibly could when he described Scott as a family member that was complicated but you still loved, I think many of his band mates would express a similar sentiment.

Looking back on VR live concerts it seems like Matt was having the time of his life. Glad him and Scott were able to bury the hatchet.

Totally. I actually rewatched their Rise Of Velvet Revolver vh1 documentary last night and it seemed like Matt pulled for Scott from the get go. He was like, "There's our guy", after hating every damn singer they auditioned haha. Then by the end, after they had done their first true gig as VR, they were all so damn into it. It was like they were kids again, rather than musicians in their mid to late 30s, early 40's.
