I don't know if this is the right thread to mention this in or if it's already been mentioned, but has anyone else noticed the sores Scott had around his mouth in the month leading up to his death? I realise it could be something like just cold sores but it still had me worried when I saw the photos (even before his passing) You can clearly see it in the photos from Brett's interview.

I noticed too, as well as scabs/sores on his arm.  He just looked really sick, almost unrecognizable, in the last year.  I'm wondering if he had an existing sickness, like cirrhosis from the alcohol or even HIV from intravenous drug use, in addition to the abuse he was putting his body through.  He was killing himself slowly.  So sad.

A lot of us have been wondering the same thing, it's another one of those mystery's (for the time being) along with his problems with his movement, in the last year or so it looked like it almost pained him to move his body and there's never been any explanation for that. I hate to keep  bringing it up but the most alarming sighting of this was at Corpus Christi when he needed help to take his jacket off. He obviously had certain health problems that he didn't want to be public knowledge.

If there was, I wonder if it would be released in the official cause of death reports, once toxicology tests are concluded.   It just looked like his body was failing.  Why was he on the road in that condition??!  Ugh.

As for the 10 day timeline I'm pretty sure his wife left the tour 10 days or so before he died .

Bingo. The wife leaves and then BOOM! Time to party. RIP Scott.

The former singer for the Stone Temple Pilots died accidentally from a mix of cocaine, alcohol and MDA, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Other contributing factors in the death of Scott Weiland, the medical examiner said, were cardiovascular disease, a history of asthma, and chemical dependence.

Me neither...or cocaine for that matter. It was expected after he died because it was found on the bus, but he didn't seem to be on an upper like that one from his behavior...at least not to me. I always thought he was abusing prescription meds and mixing them with alcohol, or something like that.

It doesn't change things, but I was hoping that he wasn't off the wagon like that.

Mark McGrath recently made this comment:

I believe this the most. He truly was.

The mix killed him. The other things were contributing factors. Since we don't know the dosage of each component, it's impossible to say if the dosage Scott ingested of the combo would be lethal to a healthy heart or not.

I don't know if they specified. But the mix probably set him over the edge that night.

When you go back and watch those interviews. Saying he was clean. And his slow movements or whatever. While it's a sad nonetheless, I guess I was hoping maybe it was from years of abuse, not THAT DAY'S abuse.

Somehow, I think we'd feel a little better about it if everything just caught up to him. But instead, it was self-inflicted again.

This is trending on Twitter and most articles I've read aren't saying anything clearly but sounds like an accidental OD with his health conditions contributing.  Yeah its a bit of a downer but no one should be surprised especially the way he looked the last couple of weeks.

Whilst not shocking it definitely makes it harder to swallow that it was an 'accidental overdose' and therefore something that could have been avoided.
Having said that I have friends who have taken MDMA and drunk alcohol on top of that at party's back in the day, not sure if any of them did coke on top of that but I'm still inclined to think Scott's deteriorating health played a part in his death unless he had a SHIT LOAD of all 3 substances, I wonder if that info will also be released, I'm guessing not.
