According to TMZ, Tommy Black has been arrested for 5th degree felony possession of cocaine in connection with Scott's death. They have his mugshot.


Again, according to TMZ, they found a small amount of cocaine in the bedroom where Scott was found, and more in the area of the buss 'occupied' by Black.


TMZ is also doubling down on their report that, as of four days ago, several 'legendary' musicians were in contact with each other, concerned Scott had relapsed by using crack cocaine.

I have not wandered into these parts in a long time, but the first thing I thought of was to check and see if Rik still had this page up and running. A lot has changed in the 14-15 years since I was more involved and even got in a pissing contest with Sean over purchasing stonetemplepilots.net (only to realize we were way too similar to begin with), and harassing Erik B. over AIM for whatever bootlegs and info I could get.

However, the impact that Scott had on my life from a musical standpoint has not changed. I think we all thought this might happen someday, but never really expected it after he made it through so many battles.

Last night my facebook feed was full of people talking about Scott, something I honestly did not expect. It just goes to show his impact on the world in his short lifetime. We are all truly blessed.

I had a strong feeling it was Tommy. I wasn't going to speculate but it sucks that he was a supplier....

Oh man, this just keeps getting worse. It's important to note though that Tommy was arrested for "possession" not "intent to distribute". There is nothing to suggest he was a supplier.

Pure speculation, but what if he was a bit responsible for enabling Jeremy Brown as well?

I'm sad about this, I really am, even if I had prepared myself for this day.


I don't want to turn this into a bashing thread, though I think news of Tommy's arrest is relevant.


That said, let's not indict someone simply because they had some cocaine on them. Scott said Jeremy was his best friend. He died young, turns out from intoxication of multiple drugs. Now Scott had recently called Tommy his best friend. Tommy was arrested for drugs which may or may have not been near Scott.


Maybe Tommy was enabling both, maybe Scott enjoyed their company because they could do drugs together, or maybe it was all separate and Scott, as TMZ reports, only recently got back into it.
