Talks of a new song called "Back To The City"
« on: September 30, 2015, 09:43:07 PM »
From Facebook.

Multi-platinum singer/songwriter of Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland hits the road with his band The Wildabouts (Tommy Black bass guitar, Joey Castillo drums, Nick Maybury guitar) for an extended tour this fall in support of the release of their full length record BLASTER (Softdrive/INgrooves) in App form developed by Google Play architect Tim Quirk (Freeform App). This cutting edge delivery platform will feature a previously unreleased track “Back To The City”, which finds Scott & The Wildabouts laying down a dark, thick, hook filled, must listen prime cut. “This tour is about making a connection. We’ll perform the hits for the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans. I made BLASTER for them, but it is fresh; we’ve made an album that can resonate, and attract a whole new group of fans. It’s a rebirth,” stated Weiland.

The official tour will be preceded by and exclusive engagement on October 5th at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California. If you did not get tickets, sorry, the show sold out in minutes, and a lucky few will get a chance to engage Scott in a Q &A, as well as experience the Wildabouts up close and personal.

Check out this rock icon’s rebirth, as Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts take their brand of rock music out on the road in the U.S.A.

I didn't even realize he had such an extensive tour coming through. New music is exciting though.

I hope he's quick to get back into the studio with the new band sooner than later.

Lots of new tour dates as well. Not a lot of information about when they all go on sale but I'm sure we will hear soon enough!

I really hope he gets in the studio before this lineup dissolves. This is the best he's had in a long time.

Amen.  I hope so too.  This is the best band in his "solo" career he's ever put together.

Look, you could put Ginger Baker on drums, Jimmy Page on guitar, and John Entwistle on bass, and together they wouldn't be able to conceal the mess that is Scott Weiland. Scott was, in his prime, one of the best ever. But trying to pretend he is even remotely close to that now is just silly.

While his shows are a far cry from his hey-day, he's fully capable of producing top-notch songs in the studio. It's just too bad that artists can't get by on sales anymore, otherwise, we'd probably get much more from Scott (and other bands in general). I love a great live show, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick new music over new tours.

100% agree with this.

People complain about how Scott doesn't sound the same as he did in his prime; or how he had an off night while touring endlessly... Yet they aren't listening to live shows or bootlegs.  Most people just listen to studio recordings anyway (and even more are just listening to Scott's OLDER stuff anyway)

Well, you're definitely new here because, otherwise, you'd know that nobody here is delusional enough to think Scott is the vocal force that he was in '92 or '94.

We're a group of fans, and want to hear his tunes and pay attention to anything else he does. I saw Scott twice this year, and both shows were great. They were short, but Scott was very good.

I'd love him to get back into the studio sooner than see him live again, though. Same goes for the Deleos.

Is this a 'new' song with the latest lineup or a leftover from the 'Blaster' sessions?? I'm assuming it's the latter but either way I look forward to hearing it.

I have a feeling we'll get a new SW & The Wildabouts album towards the end of next year, Scott seems to still love writing and recording new songs which is great and he has his own studio and label so I guess that makes the whole process a lot easier and quicker for him too.
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long

It is from the Blaster sessions. Can't find it. But, Scott talked about this song and the title before. He said it was worthy of more than a "B" side.  Looks like it is a special additional track for a new App for Blaster which works too. His new management is trying to revive the record with what is left. The old ones didn't promote properly or schedule things correctly for the album. Hence no TV appearances. New management will be much more productive and they are behind the new push for a Blaster rivival. The new single hopefully adds a little Nick and Joey in the mix. This single could help boost the great songs that the record has on it.
