I caught some clips on instagram - which is obviously not the best way to gauge anything - but overall I feel sad about the state of this band, which I love so much. Watching/listening back, I feel like nobody cares about these guys anymore...Showtime 4:30 in the afternoon, an hour set if you're lucky - seemingly no new album for who knows how long.

They just need to put an album out and have a much better social media presence. Not one post during the recent tour is pathetic.

We've just reached the point where they are purely a nostalgia act. They have a new singer, even if known, playing almost entirely old hits. Take "Out of Time" out of the set, and the newest song was released 19 years ago.

Even that "new" song is 2.5 years old. That COULD change. It changed for Alice in Chains, though an unknown singer replacing a deceased singer is probably easier for fans to handle. They toured on old hits before putting out a new album. But at least they put out a full record where they devoted a significant amount of time to it. High Rise had a time limit and is only a few songs. Much different.

I know a new full length is/was the plan, but if they have to operate within the confines of such a small window due to Chester's commitment to LP, maybe an EP would have been a good plan (in hindsight). At least they would have toured on that, promoting new music, while a song or two was hopefully being spun on radio.

I'm sure they have some sort of plan, that they're keeping under wraps-- but, in this day and age (plus the reputation they've had in the past), they should be more focused on showing off what makes this New Lineup so New.

During the first year or so, I guess it was fine to have the band come out and stick to playing the Original Catalogue, but by now they should have 4, if not all 5 tracks from the High Rise EP in the setlist, including something newly recorded.

It's bummed me out a bit that they got their wish, and are firing on all cylinders as an entity, but...aren't. I really want STP to start putting out new records again, whether with that name, or another...I guess what I'm really trying to say is that it's about time the DeLeo's put out some killer new music. They're such fantastic musicians and songwriters. Come on guys! It'd be cool if they put out a 3-4 track EP as a preview release for the new record, early next year. Just to keep things vital.

Never expected anything different from the Deleos.  Lazy, uninspired, and nobodies even w/ a talent like Chester fronting them under the STP banner.

AIC may have devoted a lot of time to their new music, but when I saw them live, they only played 3 new songs.

Seems like the DeLeo's get easily deflated when new songs or deep cuts don't get the reaction they want out of the crowd. My hunch is that when they did play the new songs live, they didn't get the crowd going as much as they would have liked, much like the deep cuts that got quickly removed from the first STP reunion tour back in '08. Of course, the fact Scott did not want to rehearse probably kept some of those out as well, but from my own experience seeing them back then, even the ones Scott was nailing got lifted.
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

When did you see Alice In Chains? I saw the Black Gives Way to Blue Tour. Night 1...6 new songs. Night 2...6 new songs again.
