In regards to journalism in its own; it's been mostly dead for quite a while. Web/TV/Magazine/Newspaper....these days it's rarely about the quality or content of the story and more about speed & marketing just to get the readers/followers/clicks/ratings/etc. It's all about getting the story out FIRST and verifying/editing the content SECOND. Even if it means just copying & pasting the story from another source. It's quite sad.
That's not an attack on Brett in particular, it's just the trend in which most content is handled these days. It's easier to seek the forgiveness after the fact than to risk not being able to break the story. I mean how many retractions or corrective followups do you see from a place like CNN on a regular basis?
So I can't blame GrungeReport for that. Atleast they're trying to isolate a genre of news. I will say, atleast when Brett brings original content it's nice to know he has knowledge and a relationship to the STP world, and not just a random person.
That said, it's his baby and his job so I can't necessarily blame him, but it'd be nice if he atleast gave a summary of the article for us, or copy & paste the meat of it, like many others do here. it would atleast show there's more concern about sharing with the community here than it is just him popping in to drop a link and get clicks.
But it is what it is. Sometimes I'll click, sometimes I won't. The world still turns.
