What are your favorite tunes off Blaster?

Aside from the poll which is designed to help Softdrive Records pick the next radio single/music video for the band, what are your two favorite songs on the Blaster album?

What song would you like to see a music video for?

What songs would you like to see added to the setlist?

I think Youth Quake would make a good single. Some people might roll their eyes at the lyrics, but it's got a sweet groove & great melody.


I'd like to see a video for Beach Pop though. Can picture a beach party type thing, with the band playing right on the water as the tide rolls in and they slowly get inundated by the water and eventually are playing chest deep as the sun starts rising in the east. The kind of music videos where they ask a bunch of people to show up so there's like a couple hundred people jus chillin' dancin' on the beach. I can see that getting played on VH1 in regular rotation.


Though I can also see hearing Hotel Rio on certain radio stations.

I voted Youth Quake as well, it's my favourite song on the album. It's musically quite diverse, having a really heavy New Romantic vibe in the verses, but then breaking out into hard rock in the choruses.

It's definitely got one of the most radio friendly sounds as well.

I love the whole record. If pushed, I'll say Hotel Rio, Modzilla, White Lightning, Youth Quake, Bleed Out, Amethyst and, of course, Parachute are my faves. But it's all happening stuff for me.

There's a psychedelic video for Parachute happening somewhere in my mind.

I voted for Parachute and I think that your comment is right on. On a side note, I'm really digging Blue Eyes. It's a catchy little tune and the break down in the middle really reminds me of glory days of STP.

Circles and Hotel Rio are my two favorites.

I think Hotel Rio would make a great single, but my two single choices are easily Circles and Bleed Out.

Bleed Out for me. Amethyst is a close second but the chorus really kills it.


Bleed Out added to setlist, and I think that Beach Pop Rock, even though I hate the song, would make for a cool music video.

3 way tie so far. I definitely think Youth Quake and Hotel Rio could be radio hits, but for Circles.... I wouldn't mind if they rerecorded it in a way that's closer to how they play it live, and push that as a single.

It fits well on the album the way it sounds, but it's a little too "Happy In Galoshes" for the radio, if that makes sense. Needs more of a straight ahead vibe.

My two favorite tunes are Bleed out and Youth Quake (I don't know if I'd pick them if they were not one after the other) they just create a perfect scenario.

Way she moves is the first single? In that case, White Lightning or Youth Quake should be the second.

Love Parachute and Circles, but I keep them as deep cuts.

I still do not understand Amethyst - it makes me sad. Help me!
