I dig the new album, but that's really sad. Fuck, it's behind Journey's greatest hits.

Yikes. The 133 number didn't really sink in for me till I saw some of the albums ahead of it...

I get that greatest hits albums always sell well, but seriously, Take Care sold more copies last week than Blaster? That album came out like 5 years ago and Drake has released several others since then. What a joke

High Rise debuted @21 and Linkin Park's last album debuted @3. Hopefully a new full length album from STP can make a top ten showing.

Funny to see GNR's Greatest Hits, PF's TDSOTM and Metallica's Black Album still on the top 200. I guess people are pretty hard-up for good rock.

I mean, how the hell could Blaster be such a flop? There's been some decent reviews, it's gotten some decent press and he was the lead singer of two pretty big bands. It should have debuted in the top 30.

Wow, that's a shame. I mean, it's a crowd funded indie album so I wasn't expecting top fifty, but I thought it would at least do better than Happy in Galoshes.

I expected more. When I picked mine up it was the last copy on the shelf and the girl at the register remarked how popular the cd was that day.

I expected it would sell less, but maybe still chart higher than the 7 year old HiG. As it is, we must be looking at first week sales of around 2000, including the Pledge pre-orders.

I'm surprised it charted as low as it did, but not surprised it sold as few copies as it did. Dude can still write great melodies, but his ship as sailed. If it was Scott who passed away, we for sure would have seen a top 10 release, along with several STP LPs entering the Billboard 200 charts.

Because of the band names involved, don't be surprised when Art Of Anarchy's album charts higher than Blaster. Even though most people think this "AOA"'s music is basically laughable.

No FM radio airplay
No late night TV performances
No social media/youtube advertising
No real music video

Regardless, it's still a damn good album.

Rival Sons latest album Great Western Valkyrie charted at 125 last year when it came out in the States. Such a joke the American charts.

It's ranked 74 on the Top Album Sales Chart though:

I'm not sure what the difference is, but as I understand it, this one only takes sales into consideration, while the Top 200 also counts streams.

Yes, every time a total of 10 tracks are streamed from any of the major services, that counts as one album sales unit on the Billboard Top 200.

They've only been including that data for 3 months now, so had Blaster been released last year, it would have charted at no.74 on the top 200, which is not too shabby really.

Guess that is a symptom of rock music fans being more traditional consumers.

That's not bad at all actually all things considered...

Yeah, sales wise I don't think this is as bad as we were thinking.

Ringo went in at no.99 on the Billboard top 200 and no.60 on Album Sales, with 9000 actual album sales, which means Blaster is still down on HiG as far as album sales goes, as HiG did 10,500 to land at 97. But it's not the disaster it looks like.

Maybe 6 - 7000 units shifted?
