Blaster entered the Billboard 200 at no.133.
Wow, thanks......it may drop off the top 200 by next week.  I checked and HiG peaked at #97.

With HIG, yes the music sales climate was different but theres more promo with it as he did some TV gigs so that helped

Yea I even remember hearing "Missing Cleveland" on FM radio a few times. Def have not heard anything from Blaster on there.

Too bad, I could easily see Blue Eyes or Amethyst getting airplay.

Finally got my physical copy of Blaster (not from Pledge, that one wasn't even shipped yet) and could give it my first 4 listenings today.
Happiness aside, I totally loved Blaster. Such a fun record.

White Lightning is still as great as the first time I heard it, not a dull moment. Love, I deeply LOVE Youth Quake, seriously. "Listenin' to Coltrane all sold out"- didn't need to say much more.
Bleed out following Youth Quake make an incredible old school rock and roll moment, you MUST dance along.

Parachute, amazing chorus. I dig the track a lot. But I keep getting the feeling they are two songs in one. Not saying this is good or bad, need more spins.
AND has, probably, the best line in the abum "walkin' the dog with my monkey's alligator".

Amethyst is the opposite, love the verse but not so much the chorus. Blue eyes. Need to keep listening. I'm sure it will grow on me.

Hotel Rio and Beach Pop are catchy as hell! Modzilla works so perfectly as opener. And Way she moves could have easily been part of Libertad, which is a good thing.
Circles, oh circles. This song. Does anyone else wish it never end? Beautiful.

Ok, now. Let's move to 20th Century Boy, why so little love? It's plain RnR. It's T-Rex. There can be nothing wrong about it.

Of course this time is not about lyrics at all, kind of a shame but a great record anyway.

I remember hearing Missing Cleveland quite a bit on Q101 in Chicago back in the day. Plus, he did a Q101 show with Eagles of Death Metal and the Cold War Kids that same year. I sparsely listen to the radio these days.

I spun the album last week. Really enjoyed it on a whole, with the exception of Parachute. (Although I LOVE the riff)

Call me crazy, but White Lightning reminds me of Marilyn Manson circa Mechanical Animals or Golden Age of Grotesque era.

Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Think a reviewer made the same comparison. Thats my least fav song on the album and usually skip it but the rest is real solid, even "20th century Boy" as many have dissed but like 'Shangri' said, it rocks

I'd just generally rather never have cover versions, on any albums. Especially if they are not a radically different take on the track. Leave that sort of stuff to singles.

It's a good cover, i'd just rather have an original song instead.

Yeah right, Jean Genie is on my album cover. I was actually pleased when I got there and found they accidentally missed it off.

It's not on any of the actual release versions. It's listed as an extra track on the Euro CDs, but isn't on there.

My signed vinyl just arrived :)

I've still been playing Blaster non-stop and absolutely love Blue Eyes, but has anyone noticed the kind of buzzy sound in the background during the chorus? My apologies if someone already mentioned this...I almost kind of like the sound I just can't tell if it's intentional or not

Yes, I was going to mention that buzzing too. I doubt it's intentional, it sounds like they should've used a de-esser on one or more tracks to avoid it. This, the vocal skip in the chorus of Hotel Rio, the aggressively audible autotune right before the choruses of Beach Pop, and the low vocal levels in Modzilla, are things I'm surprised Rick Parker and the band let get to the final cut. I wonder how much they paid him.

Yes, it's a little bothersome at low volumes. I think when it's cranked, there's so much other sound that is competing but at a low volume (for me) the buzz is extra buzzy.
