Love the album, much better than I had expected. Digging Hotel Rio, Amethyst, and Bleed Out the most so far. Whole album is solid.

However, not feeling Circles like the majority. Not bad, but all I hear is Green Day's Jaded in the chorus! Very similar melody. Sorry, but does anyone else hear it too?

Really glad to say Scott has restored a lot of my faith in him with this record.

My patience didn't last long, haha. Enjoying the sounds, even on a crappy stream. We know there are good tones in there, can't wait to blast it!

On first listen, there's something about Parachute. More to say about that one in the future. Otherwise, I still like Modzilla and Hotel Rio, Amethyst & White Lightning all work for me. The rest are fine too, I'm surprised and impressed overall.

Parachute makes me feel emotion that I haven't felt in a while with music. Really a stellar track. Has a very Beatle vibe and not a fake one either. I can't wait to get a physical copy of this!

^ I agree. There's something in this music and these vocals. It's more honest to me. No obvious Morrison/Lennon/Bowie/Costello vibes, more Weiland imo. I'm not saying it's his best work, far from it, but it feels less contrived and more real than much of it. This is a trip for sure.

Only stipulations with album: some mixing issues with the instruments. Sometimes it sounds almost unprofessional (drums in particular) and I feel like the album would have been better off without the T-Rex cover and with another track.

^ Can't judge on a stream but you may well be right. I never like covers on albums so meh on that one.

Forgot to mention, there are a couple of nods to The Cramps that I found really cool.

I am really liking youth quake so far.  Bleed out and blue eyes are my least favorite so far.
STP: A bunch.

Agreed... sounds like its lacking compression, too.

The vocal track in Hotel Rio sounds like a rough mix of stitching several parts together. I know this is done a lot, and it can add to a mix, but this track in particular should've been given some more attention with this.

I'm looking forward to getting the real album and not hearing it streamed through Pandora.

But overall, a lot of good songs on here and I'm excited to finally hear it all.

Aside from getting a Nirvana feeling in Bleed Out, I also really like that he didn't wear his usual influences on his sleeve. He still displays plenty of versatility in the vocal.
The album really flows well and I think that only helps.

Whew. Thought I might have been going crazy with all the positive feedback on here. Glad some others have also noticed the sound quality issues on the stream. I'm hoping that it is just that, the stream, and not a greater problem with the mix. Regardless, I'm going to have to hold out until the album drops.
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

It's definitely the stream. I'm not concerned one bit.

Yeah, generally streaming audio doesn't sound as good as what you'd pay for on a CD or high quality mp3.

Anybody who bitches about the quality of this Pandora stream obviously never had to hear their new music through this old fashioned thing called "FM radio". Otherwise it would have turned their sensitive ass, dog eared selves off of all music, period.

Then again, maybe I'm the only one who used to record new songs from the radio onto cassette tapes and listen to those until I was old enough to finally buy my own music. Then again, this IS an STP forum we're all reading & typing on.

BACK IN MY DAY WE USED TO USE LEADED GASOLINE AND IT WAS OKAY TO STARE DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN. Man hadn't yet stepped foot on the moon, but it was only a matter of decades until the future president John Fitzgerald Kennedy's dying wish  of beating the Soviet Russia at their own space race-game, and doing on small step for a man.

On a completely unrelated note. This album fucking rocks. His best melodies since Libertad, his best lyrics since Contraband, and his best music since Shangri-La Dee Da.

I dug Blaster the first time around, and it's done nothing but grow on me.

Though I do feel they chose the wrong songs to promote as "singles" or whatever. We were thrown so many Wildabouts songs in such a short amount of time, it's hard to tell what's a single, and what's not.

My favorites definitely aren't the ones that were first presented to us.

I don't know if this will work for y'all, but try this: http://www.techverse.net/access-listen-pandora-radio-outside-us/

Otherwise you'll have to find some other proxy to make Pandora think you're using an IP address from the USA.

If what I said doesn't make sense (it barely does to me; I've never had to use a proxy....) just Google "how to listen to Pandora outside the country" or something along those lines, and I'm sure somebody will be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks a ton!!

And this album is exactly what it says... Blaster! Brilliant comeback at rockbottom! It all fits :)
