The lyrics are very similar to Blaster (nigh, tide, whiskey). Appears to have been written in the same time frame lyrically as Blaster. So the big question is.....Are the songs off Blaster left over AOA tunes or vise versa?

I feel the lyrics on 'Art of Anarchy' are more personal, especially on songs like 'Death of It', 'Aqualung' & 'Long Ago'. I think on 'Blaster' Scott was more in 'storytelling mode' with the exception of 'Circles'. There are of course similarities between 'Small Batch Whiskey' and 'White Lightning' lyrically though.

I have to disagree completely. The AoA lyrics generally feel very job like and derivative - like they were meant to suit the nu-metal material. Honestly, when I heard it, the lyrics gave some credibility to Scott's story that he was consulting on this album as opposed to be vested in it. I like the album. Truth. But it does seem sort of phoned in to me - almost like he was writing lyrics for someone else. For example, there's that nu-metal sound where certain vocal melodies would seem inevitable, but Scott doesn't (and probably can't) go there... It's like he set it up for some other potential nu-metal singer.

I'm enjoying the AoA album, but this was my honest thought when listening to it.

I'm genuinely surprised so many of you are vibing with this release. I feel like this is almost warmer reception than Blaster got haha. I've listened to the record, it's pretty solid. I need to give it a couple more listens before I give a true opinion. I am surprised that a lot of you dig it though, I figured this thing would get torn apart. Nice to see I was wrong!

Just gave it a first listen.  I liked it.  But will give it a few more listens to see if it becomes something I keep in my rotation.

I agree with some of the others that I love this Scott voice.  Also, musically it was better than I thought it was going to be.

Oh but I wish Scott would stop saying the word tiiiiiiiime.  Forever.

He definitely has his "words".  Time is one of them... and Holy Water (even just "water")... and Superman.  :)

Tuesday has gotten a few mentions too.

Hell, Scott just likes all the days of the week.

I'm kind of curious about the Tuesday's. Sunday I imagine because it's a day for church? but what does Scott attach to Tuesday's that he uses them in songs more often than other words.

He also loves to use the word Disco. I can almost anticipate it at this point.

My copy arrived from Amazon UK today as it was only released here on Monday. It has a sticker on the front that says 'Limited Edition Digipak + Bonus Track' but strangely the bonus track is not listed on the back cover! Oh well it's on the disc itself and it is just an acoustic mix of 'Til The Dust Is Gone', better than nothing I guess but it is essentially the same as the other version minus electric guitars in the chorus!

I'm glad all the lyrics were included in the booklet and as far as Digipak's go it's a pretty nice package. I was surprised to learn that it is actually that Votta dude who plays almost every solo, talented guy! I felt for sure it was Bumblefoot playing them all. It doesn't say who plays that crazy solo on 'Grand Applause' for some reason but I am assuming that one is Bumblefoot.

Oh yeah, if you haven't voted for your fav song on the album yet in my poll in the forum please do! I'm interested to see what wins, it's pretty close and varied at the moment.
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long

I've long contended that Tuesday is the worst day of the week, but thats just me :)

This album failed to make the Billboard top 200, but it did make no. 188 in physical sales, with 1550 copies sold.
