Sounds good. Definitely shows he can do any type of vocal he wants anytime he wants. "The Drift" needs to be a single!

Agreed. Its undoubtedly my fav offa the album :)

It's actually not bad. Some of the songs are a bit repetitive, but there's some killer Scott melodies on here.

Some of the instrumentation is very bland, so Scott really has turned some things that sound quite boring into something good. Other tracks are actually just good. Get on Down is really good little ballady rocker.
The instrumentation is bland! Dude this is some of the best instrumentation I've heard since the mid nineties. It's good on all fronts.

It's very well performed, but a lot of it is pretty standard drop tuned nu-metal riffing, that is a bit too repetitive. That said there are quite a few stand out moments on the album, some of Thal's soloing and middle eights are really impressive.

I'm certainly not feeling negative about the project as a whole. I can't understand why Scott dissed it to be honest, I think he's on real good form here. His vocals are MUCH better than on Blaster. Cleaner, clearer, and he isn't tripping over his rhythms or cramming in too much like on some of Blaster. Blaster to me is a more interesting and diverse musical project, but Scott's contribution on this is very good.

Vinyl pre-ordered.

I only have the 2 songs you get when you pre-order the album (Small Batch Whiskey and Til The Dust Is Gone) and I'm enjoying them both.  Especially Small Batch Whiskey.  Nice to hear Scott singing more VR-like songs again.  I can't believe we got two Scott albums this year.  One more STP-ish and one more VR-ish.  Can't wait to hear the whole Art Of Anarchy album tomorrow!

Much of the rest of the album knocks SBW's socks off IMO. If you like that, you should enjoy the whole thing.

I briefly went through my digital phase but I'm still that guy that needs the album-in-my-hands, so I'll be picking this up later today. Thanks for the feedback though. I'm excited to hear it.

Question for those in America who bought the CD today -

Does the US version include the bonus track, 'Til The Dust Is Gone (Acoustic Mix)??

Just wondering if this is an EU/Itunes exclusive...

Wow, this is the best Scott has sounded since VR. After his vocal performances on everything put out since (after) Libertad I'd begun to think he'd finally lost his vocal power, but this shows he definitely has NOT, he's just been hiding it. For what reason, I can't possibly imagine. Best Scott vocals since VR for sure, possibly since Purple, but I'll reserve that judgement until after I actually buy the album and listen through it a few times. Doesn't sound like anything truly groundbreaking, but sometimes all the ol' career needs is a shot in the arm of some down and dirty, meat and potatoes hard rock. Definitely will be picking this up.

I gotta say, I agree (cant believe I said that)!  I'm listening to the album right now, and I'm quite surprised by it.  I still hate the drumming, but there are some really powerful melodies on here ("Death of It" especially caught me by surprise).  Scott definitely didnt phone this one in, even if he is acting like he did.  Metal isnt my cup of tea, but I would see these guys if Scott did a tour with them.  Really love the vocal melodies and lyric work on this album.

Maybe Scott phoning it in is still better than everyone else?  He's the melody man after all hahaha.

Anyway, I listened to the first 6 tracks on my way to work and it's pretty good!  I still much prefer Blaster, but this is certainly worthy and up there with everything else Weiland has put out. Like Pingfah, I find the music gets bland after a while.  All of the songs sound similar.  Weiland's melodies make this a pretty solid album though.

Been streaming the album at work this morning and planning to buy it.

Scott sounds great and Bumblefoots playing is excellent, just really can't stand the sound of the drums.

I've just given the album a full listen and honestly I gotta say I love it!

At first it's a little strange hearing Scott sing over something so heavy but once I got past that I found myself really enjoying it and even tapping my foot and singing along to the one's I already know, there's no denying this album has got some catchy hooks :-)

Scott certainly did an amazing job with his vocals, lyrics and melody's as others have said and it's the best he has sounded for a long time. As far as the music goes, heavy or not there's some pretty interesting stuff here, Bumblefoot shines as the main talent on that side of things of course and he show's he can switch from a nice melodic solo to a completely batshit crazy fretless one! I actually find him to be a more interesting guitar player than the Slash of today if I'm honest, Slash in his GNR days was excellent and I do like VR but there's no denying his playing has become a tad boring of late. I'm only comparing the two because of the VR & GNR connections here between the two.

I think the highlights for me from the one's I hadn't already heard are - 'Death of It' where Scott's vocals really are beautiful, 'Superstar' with it's dirty main riff, 'Long Ago' which has got radio rock hit written all over it with that chorus and 'The Drift' which is an excellent closer to the album. I genuinely love every track on here though, even 'Grand Applause' with it's slightly awkward vocals sounds better when you hear it in full!
Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long
