has anyone ever got the cd version with the dragon scales

never knew there was another version.

my dragon scales version is still kicking.  very strange though, a decade ago it started skipping during the beginning to pretty penny for what seemed to be a year or two.  some how the wrinkle worked its way out.  never had a cd do that.

I bought Purple the day it came out as well (like many of you) from Tower Records in Garden City, NY. I can even remember where in the store the CD was. I was so excited walking in there, lol. Mine had the scales, and I didnt know of other versions existing until a friend got one thru BMG 2 years later.

But, how many of you bought The Crow soundtrack a month or two earlier when the radio started playing "Big Empty" (before "Vasoline" ever hit the airwaves)? I remember Z100 played it a lot in the spring.
 
Haha, I did and got into "Dead Souls" by NIN from hearing that soundtrack. Good stuff.

the Crow soundtrack is spellbinding i saw it in a junk store awhile back still in the shrink wrap.. have no clue
why i didnt buy it..
5 dollars wasnt a bad price.. maybe i didnt feel like talking to the cashier.. i was a bit impatient that day.

I'd like to see all this alternate artwork. All I see here now are broken links. If it's in the download section now even now I have the required Karma god knows when I will get the access. Doesn't look like anyone is actively monitoring this board.

When I first bought purple, I got the cd with the dragon scales and that is all I had ever seen... Finally about 6 months ago, I was at a local cd shop and I saw a used copy of purple, and opened it up to see the flower cover.  Naturally I had to buy it for the collection... Not sure if it was worth the 7 dollars to get a cd I already had, but I don't regret it...

Going to a used CD store and seeing how many cases of Purple they have is key. Have them look through the actual CD's behind the counter to see if they have one.

Most used stores don't have the CD in the cases for fear of people running off with the disc and leaving behind the case... duh.

i don't know what any of you guys are talking about !! lol  please post pics. Yea i bought these all  pretty much when they came out. If they changed them down the road its new to me. I usually look at the STP CD's when I am at a store to see if there is anything new or import that I have never seen. and even at that I haven't seen any of these variations.

ah thats great. I thought you guys were talking about alternate covers for some reason. I have only ever seen the scales. interesting that they total changed it to flowers.
I don't really go crazy looking for anything here yet, I figure anything good is in the downloads, and even though I have the Karma I don't yet have the access.
