Happy was the song they were working on for Libertad, but Scott felt that it would fit better on his solo album.

Scott may have written the lyrics, but I think Pharrell did because the same ones were on N*E*R*D's album, with no credit to Scott.

I personally can't see Scott writing the words "damn you, Cupid."

The world will probably never know.

Hah, true, the whole "damn you, cupid" seems a little beneath Scott.  But it wouldn't surprise me if Scott wrote most of it, and Pharell just added to it, or changed it to fit NERD.  Either way, I can still hear that 30sec clip of Scott's version and it needs to come out!

I'm late but it's still interesting stuff! it's almost hard to believe how a song had so many names

Hopefull, it will include some of these studio tracks as a bonus or adeluxe edition w/ the book:

the banjo-and acoustic guitar-addled She's So Cold
the peppy rocker Talk About Love
Pharrell's written a song called "Happy"
Drop That Baby - a trace of psychedelia melded with a heavy, melodic hook
If Only I Could Fly - has an angelic, celestial vibe, with airy guitars reminiscent of U2's Edge
January Drum Machine Song - light electronica
At The Prison
Breath Again Again
Distant Shore
Lift Me Up
You Are My Hope

by the way, anyone know whatever happened to the title track, Happy, i have a 35 sec. clip only from Scott's myspace site?

I think a lot of those songs got retitled and put on HIG.

For example, I'm pretty sure that "she's so cold" is actually just "tangle"

And I'd wager a few guesses just based on the descriptions given:

Talk About Love = Blind Confusion
January Drum Machine = Arch Angel
If Only I Could Fly = Crash

Don't know about the others though.

As we all know, there was a huge list of songs displayed on a computer screen in the "Happy In Galoshes" EPK video:

    At The Prison
    Breath Again
    Distant Shore
    January Drum Machine Song
    Lift Me Up
    You Are My Hope

Also, "She's So Cold" and "Talk About Love" were mentioned in the early HiG press-release.

So, according to Doug:

"Distant Shores" was the working title Gary Beers (song's co-writer) used for "Tangle With Your Mind". Then it was called "She's so Cold" then it was finally titled "Tangle With Your Mind"

"At The Prison" is "Blister On My Soul"

"Breathe Again" didn't get on the record. It is a really good song and will show up somewhere

"January Drum Machine" was retitled "Archangel"

"Lift Me Up" didn't make it on the record.

"Talk About Love" is now called "Blind Confusion"

"You Are My Hope" never made the cut
[/size]

Thank you, Doug  ;)

Small addition:
The song called "If Only I Could Fly" that was mentioned in Rolling Stone article in 2002 didn't make the cut.
Can we really find

outtakes would be cool to hear, although I didn't really care much for the album.
The cover of "But not tonight" is really good, though.

Funny, Gary Beers wiki still says he co-wrote "She's So Cold" not "Tangle..."

I bought the single disc hard copy of Galoshes, then I gave it to a friend and bought the double album version, THEN I found out that I Know Its Too Late is only on iTunes, only if you buy the whole album on iTunes. I still don't own the song, and quite honestly, I don't feel like I should have to pay for the whole album again just to have it....

Does anyone know of any legal ways I can get this song?
